Can anyone point me in the right direction to any sites where i can download a Standard Format Job application form template so i can print some off to send out to prospective employers, I dont want to go down the line of typing out a lengthy cv, I just need a standard application form template.
I have found some templates but they are all usa versions and i am useless with microsoft word otherwise i would alter them to suit the UK.. Many thanks Rash..

Well Harlow Council have a template online of a job application form. Although I'm not sure an application form is any better than a CV, surely you would have to type just the same amount about your education, skills etc. Anyway here it is:

This, however, is a useful collection of CV templates and tips, you'll probably save more time with a good CV than an application form! A covering letter personalised for the employer and a well-presented CV are the best option in my opinion (and experience:))

Lots of organisations nowadays want applicants to fill in specific application forms. Certainly local government, civil service, NHS (to name but a few) all have their own and won't accept CVs.

Agreed! However I assumed the OP was aware of this and was asking about speculative applications to employers who are not necessarily advertising or have a requirement to fill in their standard form. In the private sector, it is often worth sending a CV and cover letter, or even better, emailing if you manage to obtain the right person's contact details. I know - it got me a couple of jobs and I saw people being recruited this way, especially in smaller companies.
