what as happened to sheffield as the city of sport.ponds forge as lost the training pool for diving.institute for sport lost out on fundig of handball and one other escapes me what it is.also been taken of the venues for teams coming for the olympics to train at.these have all gone to venues down south.looking like a london olympics more and more just like the dome.none of this taken up by the star or local politicians.anybody any thought?

well the council is in talks with a few major countries with regards tem using sheffield as a training base before the games- i belive canada is one of countrie, and then obviously some of the smaller countries will use the facilities too.

as i understand it sport england have to o.k. the sites and they have only given the go ahead to five out of six that applied and sheffield is not one.
