This ad on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3362013307&category=34370) is odd for the reason that why would people want to pay over £1 million for 4 Nokia handsets?

But whats even stranger is the CURRENT highest bidder. Someguy called ''bewarnedconman".

Hmmmm I wonder if some money laundering is taking place or it's just a mess about! :loopy:

My guess is that bewareconman has been stiffed by the seller in the past and is merely stifling the chances of anyone else being stung.

That's the trouble with Ebay. If you get a bad feedback rating and / or are kicked off, you can just start again with a new user id.

Perhaps thats whats happened here?

What's to stop someone giving you bad feedback if you give them bad feedback?

Nothing at all, it's down to spite.

If you buy something and have been mucked around, you have every right to leave bad feedback. But, you don't because they will do the same to you.

Then, the next poor buyer has the same sort of problem.

resurrecting this old thread!

Was watching a mobile phone in My Ebay to see how much it went for because I have a similar one listed.

It is a used Sony Ericcson K700i probably worth no more than £50... but it sold for £1242.00. Is this money laundering? I tried to post a link to it, but I need more than 15 posts to be able to do that... item number is 330028899580.

I received an e-mail from a woman offering me £200 for mine, to which I replied and said if she wanted it she could bid on it, and if she bid £200 I would end the item early, but she hasn't replied.

What's going on?! Is it related to the story in the news today about the VAT fraud?

I know. If you look at the bid hostory, it jumps up from about £47 to £999 in one bid. Seems very strange.
