View Full Version : Crufts TV - how do you watch it?
JarvisCocker 08-03-2009, 16:11 I'm trying to watch Crufts live on the tinter but it doesn't seem to be doing anything? I wanted to watch the Friends for Life bit later on. Hubby has tried it on his laptop and his is doing the same thing, nothing. Any ideas? It's not very clear, do you have to register or log on?:help:
Hi,
it's on a break at the moment, due to resume at 5pm
http://www.cruftslive.tv/ watch live
gabzball 08-03-2009, 16:25 I have had a look because i didnt realise that BBC werent broadcasting it. It appears that you can watch it live without registering, you have to click on that yellow bar thing that says about activex control for it to work. What i wanted to see was the toy group from the other day but to watch previous days you have to pay a minimum of £1.99 for the day, scandalous considering its usually on tv for free!

If you scroll down the comments on this page (http://www.crufts.org.uk/news/crufts-2009-will-be-streamed-online), somebody's posted a link to a download to make it work on Macs.
JarvisCocker 08-03-2009, 20:37 Thanks Dozy. I missed it though :(
I'll have to pay the subscription thingy to watch again.
All this faffing about cos the BBC's got a cob on with the Kennel Club about people breeding dogs specifically for shows like Crufts?! Which leads to cases of inter-breeding?!
JarvisCocker 08-03-2009, 20:49 Well Im really peed off cos I wanted to watch the Friends for Life to see Lottie and T and I've not seen them because despite downloading the thing and installing that and faffing about, its still NOT WORKED. Ooooo I'm cross.
fox20thc 08-03-2009, 21:07 :( I wanted the boxer to win best in show... pah! rubbish
I loved the Pharaoh hound and the Vizsla that were in the final. I really do struggle to see how people can like poodles, I just find them hideous with thier dodgy hair do's!

The boxer was nice that would have been my 3rd choice
The boxer was gorg and i loved the Dane and neo mastiff you could tell the youngsters though. Who won best in show i gave up after Lottie if i am honest i am not remotely interested lol but did enjoy the little bit i did watch.

it's inbreeding
Crufts isn't entirely populated by dogs bred specifically for the showring - the foxhound I met has come from a pack, so was bred for a function, not a look
The BBC have been gearing up for a good excuse to not bother with dogs for years - they've been spending more air time on the chelsea flowershow than crufts for years, and what used to be a televised dog show had become an excuse for parading badly behaved pets, clueless presenters and accessories which no dog should be found dead in - and don't get me started on that flaming flyball contest
Does anyone know who won the Friends for Life? Everything else is on the website apart from that.
fox20thc 08-03-2009, 21:48 erm, not Lotti :( can't recall but was a friends type dog which helps lots of individuals I think
Twas lou and Brock the dog looked collie like, he is a search dog who helps find people who have gone missing i.e. people with dementia
I think that was Lotti's prediction wasn't it?
