Draggletail 26-06-2005, 17:01 Does anyone know how to set up so when I enter my username into ebay, after I type the first letter, the name enters automatically?
It's a long name and tedious to type. I'm sure it can be done 'cos it works like this for Mrs Draggle on her work computer.
Have had a look in 'Internet options' but cannot find anything there.......
Thanks in advance

firefox browser does that ...........with passwords / usernames etc, then you can go into tools/options/privacy and clear them if needed..........in fact in that section you can tick each bit to tell it to remember em
Draggletail 26-06-2005, 17:09 Have considered Firefox but never got around to it.......

DO IT!!
it has a few minor irritations compared to internet explorer
BUT
the security side of things is worth it
its about 79% safer than IE?
and has added bonuses that IE doesnt
Draggletail 26-06-2005, 17:19 Can you run both along side each other? (just in case of probs with Firefox.....)
I tend to feel 'safe' with I.E, run a firewall, virus checker, run spyware programs regularly.....

it still has a 1001 security holes tho...........yes, i still have IE installed, just never open it, unless i REALLY need to, mostly i dont tho, just use firefox
Draggletail 26-06-2005, 17:33 Thanks - I have the links for Firefox, plus the spellchecker add on :hihi:
May well give it a go :)
Viper_GTSR 26-06-2005, 17:56 I would really recommmend Firefox too, tabbed browsing is soo much easier than havng multiple windows open. The Download Managaer that it has built in is very useful too, running multiple downloads in one small box and saving them there so you can easily access them. If you like listening to music while on the pc, get foxytunes too.
Draggletail 26-06-2005, 18:03 Gonna download it now and have a kneb :)

In IE, isn't this on Tools, Options, Content, Autocomplete?
For once IE has something that Firefox has!
Joe
Draggletail 27-06-2005, 19:23 Downloaded Firefox easily and installed a spellchecker......
Am currently exploring 'Tabbed browsing' :)
For anyone out there considering changing from I.E to Firefox - don't be put off - Firefox doesn't look unlike I.E - It's all quite 'familiar'
Ebay haven't got a Firefox friendly tool bar yet, but I can live with that.
Heres to safer surfing
