I have signed - and people need to have a look if they care about staffy's. its only open until the end of March.
I'm confused - has there been any talk of Staffy's added to the DDL? How crazy if they are.

just read these to get alittle more information about why there thinking of adding staffys to the list the second link makes a very intresting reading and i feel it is very true what the person is trying to say alltho not aimed at staffys i think we should think about the entire problem here if anyone cares as i do adding dogs to this list wont help.

The first article was in 2006 and so was in with the high frenzy of people collecting all sorts of dogs and naming them as type - nightmare.
Howeve, Ryan's article in the dogmagazine archive is brilliant, where he shows just how ridiculous BSL is - when looking at a dog of 'type'
Ryan also refers people to look at the following site which has lots of information useful to dog owners who care.
http://www.cfidos.co.uk/
However, this i whats coming about of late - the the RSPCA are actually standing up and doing something (like their name suggests "CRUELTY TO ANIMALS") ie - killing an animal just cos someone in power says you should- with this
http://www.cfidos.co.uk/rspca-supports-c-fidos-ddawatch-call-for-end-to-bsl/
Thanks for raising this on here - its a bit hard to follow - but everyone could be affected by these BSL - already thousands of innocent dogs have been destroyed - but as usual people don't do anything until it actually affects them.

I hope people take just 10 or 15 minnits to read the second link i posted i hate reading but this one kept me interested as i said i was shocked they are thinking of adding staffies as i have one and luv her to death she couldnt hurt a fly i mean literally shes so submissive and has been pinned down by a dog that liked her 2 much and she just cowered untill she could escape and run

Lol mines very intrested in things until they move and runs a mile infact both mine wouldnt go outside outher week cause it was windy and loud and they didnt like it made me laugh only time they gone out of front door after me haha
signed..i think the whole bsl is ridiculous tbh and they need to review it not add more breeds
Staffies are already included in the Dangerous Dogs Act, folks. It's simply not enforced in most cases.
I was unable to bring my Lab/Staff mix, Maverick, with me from the states, because he "looks" like a "pit bull type."
The act covers types of dogs, not just specific breeds. "Pit bull terrier" is not a BREED. It is a group of breeds, without a single definitive marker.
These laws are flawed, difficult to enforce properly, and have been shown to make absolutely no difference in the number of violent incidences. Waste of taxpayer money.
