At around 10pm this evening.

Working Cocker Spaniel, entire dog.

No collar (in the wash after getting wet in the sea today) but is microchipped.

Very deep lemon and white in colour has a beautiful coat, and is in cracking condition - a very very fit looking hound.

07949 466911 if you see him.

He is friendly and will approach you if you see him.

Please let him come home!!

Not got the boy back, he has not been run over on either Morthen Road or M18 (I rang Street Pride street clean up team and the Highways Agency).

There have been no sightings of him at all though.

He really is a cracking boy, I did not sleep last night and have had a couple of hours this afternoon while mum was around - I cant tell you all how much Iwe miss him, spent most of the day running round to different rescue centres/kennels etc asking questions. Have rung the vets in the area, the rescue centres we did not go to, South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance - you name it. I have even tried Identichip to say that if someone scans this information and tries to change ownership or it somehow flags on their system that his chip has been scanned in the last 22 hours then I want to know about it and no way under any circumstances are the details to be changed - its a very long shot they will help though.

If anyone goes on photobucket there are pics of him on there, my brain wont work enough to let me work out how to do it on here.

If anyone heres of anyone in Wickersley/Thurcroft suddenly acquiring a new dog that fits his description, please let me know 07949 466911 gets me ANYTIME.

Rupert was taken into Worksop police station this morning. A woman picked him up at the Consort Suite at 11.30pm on the Thursday then kept him. She took him to the station this morning, along with a new collar and lead. They only took him in because, to use their words, the lady was acting weirdly and they believe that if they had let her just leave her details and then told her to take the dog away again, until the police had traced me, that they would not have seen or heard from her again and I would still be minus my dog. I believe that she has seen his missing posters and/or the posts on here and other sites because she has cut his hair, namely the distinctive fan like tuft on the end of his tail, his trousers and his ears. I bet she even had him booked in for the chop!!!!!

I am SO pleased for you and the little chappie has been found safe and well.

Doesn't it jut show that we need the police to help with lost dogs? Goodness knows what happens to them when there is nowhere for them to be taken to any more.

Trouble is - the police could be in trouble for taking in dogs and helping - ieven if they want to? How stupid a law it was to get rid of it -

Some areas dont have any out of our support - like Barnsley. they are a disgrace. From 4.00pm Friday night - Monday 9.00 - if you loose a dog in barnsley there is nowhere to call - and if you find a dog in Barnsley - there is absolutely nowhere to take it to.

Thank god your little boy ran left instead of right.

This is always my point with lost or stray dogs. It depends which county they run to whether they live - or they die. Its as simple as that.

Why on earth did she do all that, then take him to the police station?

Maybe somebody persuaded her that there was likely to be a distraught owner somewhere and she should at least report it

Thank goodness the police station took him off her! Well done them for preventing the theft of your dog!

Maltby would not have taken him in at all, nor should Thornberry as they are not the local designated "Stray" kennels (these are at Mount Pleasant at Hampole Doncaster). Having said that I do know that, in the past when Mr B ran the show they (Thornberry) were accused of taking in pedigree dogs as they had a waiting list of potential homes and someone I know who used to work there quit because they took pedigree dogs in and sent them straight out again (within 24 hours) WITHOUT trying to contact the real owner.

I am a very lucky woman and am keeping an extra close eye on that little lad (who, is very stressed out by the whole experience, I don't think he likes his haircut either).

This is where dollys directive comes in, the petition is now closed, but you can read about dollys directive here ...

He does have a look of a field spaniel in the picture. I had a call about booking in a field spaniel the other day, but I couldnt fit him in and I certainly haven't had any dogs in fitting his description lately.(Im at Dinnington btw)
So glad hes home......
