View Full Version : Should we 'Park and Ride' for the arena?

4 of us are going to the arena to see the masters footy today.

The question is, will it be cheaper/easier to park-and-ride from Crystal Peaks, or to park one car at the arena?

(or if anybody else is going from our end of town, I've got 3 spare seats in the car ;) )

Edit: Or I could park at Meadowhell, and it's £1.50 each to get to the arena.

Well, according to the website, parking would be a fiver, but when we got there it was only £3

Best place to park for the Arena is in the retail park car park. It has been known for cars in Centretainment to be clamped

Since it was £5 to park in the arena car park when I saw REM, I parked in Centertainment. I figured that There's no way of them knowing that I was in the arena and not bowling or watching a film.

How can the people at Centertainment know who parked for the arena or not though? Would be hard to clamp i imagine - can't you just argue you were in Bits and Pizza or summat if you come back and your car is clamped?

but then on the other hand people who want to get to the cinma cant park. Its very bad when drivers park not in a bay but and on a pedestrian area with a ramp which would be needed by people in wheelchairs or prams, and they also block the bike park.

I would personally blame the Arena for charging so much. The first REM concert I went to was cancelled. I had parked in the arena car park and paid a £5. As it turned out I was only parked there for 30mins and no refund was offered. I do agree though that it's annoying when there are no parking spaces left at centertainment because of a concert.

Yeah...it's not like we don't get enough customers having a go at us because the car park is full ;)

Saying that...guess where we parked when we went to see REM? The problem is that Arena charge for parking! Obviously paying £35-£60 a ticket isn't enough for them, they need to fleece you cash to park on a gravel pit they call a car park. No wonder people use the Centertainment.
