After suffering the big freeze, it was nice to get down to the beach for some fun.

These were taken yesterday at Himatangi beach on the Tasman Sea coast of New Zealand's North island.
Himatangi is part of a 97Km long stretch of beach. The beaches are volcanic, so look grey rather than golden. They are all natural, so there is a lot of driftwood.
The really unnerving thing is that the beach is also a public highway with a 100Kph speed limit. You can drive for miles along the waters edge.

Oooh it's just like Baywatch :P
