when i try to do a thorough scan disk in safe mode it runs for thirty minutes or so then gives me a notice that it has tried to restart ten times.

this it says, is because some thing is writing to the program, how? if its in safe mode theres only scan disk running surely, any advice please?

theres still stuff running in the background..........use alt ctrl and delete to open task manager and close anything you think you dont need to run.........tbh i find in xps task manager its a bit complicated and i dont know what all the gibberish names do....in win me's task manager i was fine and could shut almost everything
