What an incredible film that is. We had the dusty old VHS version, so butchered and dubbed over (on the bridge she shouts, on the VHS ' You fakers!'. Naturally, the true comment which I assume you could easily guess appears on the DVD) that watching the full unedited and restored version on DVD was like watching a totally new film. It really is a hard hitting film and the dancing and wonderful soundtrack is almost an aside to the film's social ethos. The language, the violence is in places quite hard to stomach - but what a film! Can you dig it? I knew that you could!!!! |
