open in adobe camera raw, adjust as required and click on Save - in the dialogue box, choose jpeg - this is probably the easiest way

picasa is free from google, it's a pretty user friendly program that purports to organise your images, upload them do "cool" stuff with them etc.

But it happily deals with raw images, and gives you some basic tools to coax a better shot out of a marginal one.

http://picasa.google.com/

I use it.

Use LightRoom - import all the RAWs using that. Develop them in lightRoom and then export to JPEG. Finish off the photos in PhotoShop.

Treat LightRoom like a lab... develop the RAW in such a way that it will be editable in PhotoShop, for example, I do all B&W/toning in PhotoShop - and use LightRoom to squeeze each RAW file for all the Dynamic Range I can.

Of course you will need to pay for lightroom, whereas a lot of the other alternatives on here are free.

If nikon, use CaptureNX may be better.
Canon, use DPP..

Other 3rd party software can do this as well, such as ACDsee, picasa, lightroom, photoshop, apreture II...

I think the only free software here is picsas from google.
