Has anyone been to Runltd at Don Valley??? :o madhappy 27-02-2009, 14:33 ME! I'm training for Race for Life at Don Valley Em G 27-02-2009, 14:34 i've been before. I never used to run but after going to runltd i can do about 10k now. Not registered for the marathon yet but i'm very tempted! Pinkster 27-02-2009, 14:35 Runltd is great - I go every week. You do it as part of a group, and because of this, it pushes me to work harder. I do combine it with running on the track at Don Valley too. It's all included in my Fitness Unlimited membership which costs me £24 a month. wow wow 27-02-2009, 14:36 I'd like to come with you. Does anyone know what's that like? madhappy 27-02-2009, 14:38 I prefer running at Don Valley, I couldn't run the streets on my own, and not when it's dark. It's floodlit with a great view. things is with running I get bored if I'm on my own that's why I like th erunning club - get to have a chin wag at the same time! Pinkster 27-02-2009, 14:38 I'd like to come with you. Does anyone know what's that like? Come down next week - its on Monday night at 6pm. I'll be there and I can introduce you to the group... they're a great bunch of people Bungle Bear 27-02-2009, 14:40 I'm not a member can i just come and run around?? wow wow 27-02-2009, 14:41 That would be brilliant, thanks Pinkster. Pinkster 27-02-2009, 14:43 Yeah - you can do that too. Not sure what the costs are - have a look on the don valley website, I think its just www.donvalleystadium.co.uk spudgun 27-02-2009, 15:09 I`ve run with runltd before and they are a good bunch but also sheffield running club use don valley and they`re a good bunch too and a lot cheaper. They only charge 12 pound a year i think, that`s half the monthly charge of FU. foofighter11 28-02-2009, 21:36 You only pay to join the SRC not to run with them that bits for free :) I have trained with run ltd a long time ago but i would still recomend them but find running on the track a bit boreing but every one is different but as a place to start running the track is safe Em G 06-03-2009, 14:46 bungle bear. hows the training going for the marathon? have you tried out runltd yet? i'm going next week if you want to come along? Bungle Bear 06-03-2009, 14:54 the training is poor im afraid. I am going to Don Valley on monday night for the fun fitness assault course. :) maybe that will help me in the marathon!!!! Em G 06-03-2009, 14:55 excellent! i'll probably see you there! madhappy 06-03-2009, 14:57 what's the fun fitness assault course Bungle Bear 06-03-2009, 15:04 Its at Don Valley Stadium on the outdoor track, (don't worry there won't be any time to get cold) starts at 6pm. A fun fitness assault course to push speed, agility, co-ordination, power and endurance. Exercises include jumping through hoops, scambling under nets and charging though giant skittles. See you at 6pm!! All this is to raise money for comic relief. This is a sponsored event where we ask each participant to collect sponsorship to complete as many circuits as the course as they can as part of their team. |
