View Full Version : Bad roads - who do I report them to? MuteWitness 24-06-2005, 17:44 Who would i be able to report bad road surface to? i have looked on the councils site but just cant find it. An email would be ideal because i could attach the pictures Saxon 24-06-2005, 18:00 Its Street Force - this is from their web page on the Council's website "Welcome to the Street Force web pages. Street Force was formed to bring together all the work the Council does to care for the city's streets into one integrated service. The service is designed to ensure there can be involvement by local neighbourhoods towards improving the overall street scene (roads, pavements, lighting, litter removal, street sweeping, verges etc) in each area of the city. This will involve maintaining the roads, footways and street lights, street furniture (street signs, seats etc), public toilets and winter maintenance, as well as grass cutting, street sweeping, litter picking and the removal of dumped rubbish and abandoned vehicles. These services are delivered by ourselves and in partnership with others. If you are concerned about any of the service areas we cover, for example: damage and vandalism, spillages, broken glass or dumped rubbish, faulty street lighting, roads or footways that need repairing or vehicles that appear abandoned please contact us, we will be happy to help. Thieves see our paving stones, kerbs, stonework, benches, cast iron street lighting columns, flower/shrub planters etc as easy pickings and are bold enough to appear with a van, day or night, posing as genuine workmen. If you see something suspicious, that makes you think somebody is stealing these valuable items from our streets, please contact us with the details (location, vehicle registration number, description of those involved etc). " This link details exactly what they do http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/in-your-area/street-force/highway-maintenance sanman 24-06-2005, 18:05 Slightly off topic but isn't it about time the the SCC website got rid of their current search engine and used something like Google. The current one is absolutely abysmal. pberry 26-06-2005, 14:53 Originally posted by f_g Who would i be able to report bad road surface to? That'd be 90% of the roads in the city then! MuteWitness 26-06-2005, 16:03 your correct - if the get enough complaints they might do something. Draggletail 26-06-2005, 16:08 Might be some info on this old thread by bigflesh.... http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33843&highlight=report+bad+roads dan_999uk 27-06-2005, 17:25 I see that Main Avenue was named fourth bumpiest road in the country! BBC News Article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/4625677.stm) I wouldn't hold your breath about the Council doing anything - unless you say it's a deathtrap for cyclists maybe... I've never ever driven on roads as bad as Sheffield. pberry 27-06-2005, 17:34 That's the estate road in New Totley, right? dan_999uk 27-06-2005, 18:13 Yes, that is absolutely correct, it is the estate road in Totley. (What's this "Sorry, but your message is too short" nonsense?)
