I've finally completed the first toe-up sock (yes, the one that I ripped out and started again!) and it fits perfectly, hurrah!
I have just one problem - I thought I'd cast off quite loosely, but I can hardly get it over my heel :(
Does anyone have any stretchy cast-off methods that would solve the problem?

The link to the one I have used previously seems to be broken, but I found these (http://weebleknits.blogspot.com/2003/05/stretchy-bind-offs.html) which might help. I think the one I used was like the Knit-u one.

1. K2sts.
2. Slip the 2 sts from the right hand needle to the left hand needle.
3. K these 2 sts tog. K1.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all sts have been bound off.

HTH

You could do a sewn cast off, I've never done one but it's supposed to give you a really stretchy result. Another option would be to do a few increases in the row before you cast off (do too many and you'll get a frill). You could just try again and think loose thoughts.
