Just been to a new Running shop in Attercliffe - Accelerate.
Really impressed as it was a big store...light, airy, plenty of choice for all sorts of runners including road runners and fell runners.
The staff are all runners and I bought a pair of shoes...I went through their gait analysis and it was very thorough with everything explained.
Even given a cup of tea... Highly recomended.
Has anyone else been in?
Where abouts in attercliffe is it and what are the prices like?
It's just up the road from the Stadium, towards town. On the right at top of the hill and has big vertical banners.
Certainly not overpriced and plenty of choice - more off road and fell shoes than any where else. Had some good offers too.
Service was brill.... go take a look.
They have a website but apparantly it's not up to date as that is being replaced soon.

Actually they are just up the road.
The Accelerate store is about three times bigger - an old bank and still has the safe door.
The staff are all runners, fell and road. Very friendly and all that.

Thats good (the bold bit) for someone wishing to purchase running shoes.
I'm due a pair of new trainers in the next month, so will come and check out the new shop :)

round the corner from Don Valley Stadium
I spoke to some of the staff at Edale gala last year (there because of the fell race). They were really knowledgeable and friendly but I found them a little pricey compared to other shops - still, I'd probably give them my business.

had a trip to the new shop accelerate. very nice and all that but didnt stock my favourite shoes asics cumulus or nike pegasus.

Would highly recommend, no pressure selling and gait analysis was very good. Prices are recommended list prices. Happly pay this v internet shopping for the easy returns and personnal service. Good selection of Trail/Fell shoes, ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes (Road & trail). No connection with the shop. Dont sell Asics/Nike, they were very open that, with all discounting they could not compete and stay in business.
