Im trying to find my old karate instructor mark oakley, im having no luck what so ever i've tried google and yellow pages...his instructor was barry nash cant seem to find him either if anyone could help i would be very much appreciated

Barry Nash has classes at Ponds Forge and Hillsborough LC ..... bet you could contact him through them.

For shukokia you need to contact Stan Knighton , he would also know..

Yeah im really wanting to get back into it....im not sure where that is mate...i know he used to train in an old community hall across from the fitness suite on penistone road i think it is?...i went up one friday night to see if they was any sign of life but i had no luck, but i've found out where barry nash trains thanks to the posts on here which i very much appreciate...im going up there this friday to get marks number if i can

I've known Mark for years, he taught me at the old Pinegrove in Stannington when I was 14.

He's a good bloke, strict though.. Although having said that he doesn't make 6 year olds cry by shouting at them, like Barry's been known to.

Do i know you rich? mi full name is christian i trained with him for about 4 years between 1999 to about 2003

Stannington. Pine Grove now closed. Don't know if or where Mark trains now. He used to be part of Heian Ryu karate group. So many people leave karate for one reason or another.

Does anyone know if the shukokai club at Banner Cross methodist church belongs to any particular group ?

i think mark moved to France about 2 years ago - i never trained with him but did know him.

i dont know if he is back or not.

I also trained with Mark Oakley he moved to france last year. The club is still up and running at christ church church hall on fox hill road. It is run by 3 of us on a tuesday (Adults from 8pm) and a friday (adults from 7.30) why don't you come over and see whether you want to train with us we have a fully matted area, punch bags etc.

Mark trains and teaches on Fridays at Barry Nash's club based at Hillsborough Leisure Centre, 6.15-7.45 PM.

More often than not he has the task of teaching classes of new starters, while Barry takes on (and shouts at) us more experienced folk.

Small world!!! Is Mark Oakley the same guy who is a short lad with a bald head?
If so i trained there once, i came down with my team to do some sparring.
