Carmine 24-06-2005, 09:30 One of my middle names is "Crawford". Lotti 24-06-2005, 09:30 Not really. I was named after the Bronte sisters my full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Ann. But my two girl's names for when I have kids are: Elsbeth and Desdemona. I think they're really pretty! my aunts a nurse and a little girl called Annette was in hospital. Ousetunes 24-06-2005, 09:49 Originally posted by Lotti Not really. I was named after the Bronte sisters my full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Ann. My eldest daughter is a Charlotte Emily whom was so named due to my love of the Bronte sisters (esp Emily's Wuthering Heights, my all-time favourite novel). Am I right in thinking that Elizabeth Bronte was one of the younger sisters who died in childhood? Then again, they were all dead before their 40th birthdays, weren't they? Charlotte - 39 Emily - 30 Anne - 29 Sad indeed and prophetic in some way. Lotti 24-06-2005, 09:57 It is sad, especially as they were so talented. And yet we get these people who live to be old and have not one ounce as much talent as those girls had! Yes, I think Elizabeth did die in childhood. Apparently my mum never made the connection :suspect: They are also all royal names of Queens/Princesses and my sister is: Rebecca Mary Ellen All biblical. Sierra 24-06-2005, 15:12 Originally posted by sheff_minx However my friend just had a baby girl and called her Camrin... I've never heard of this before! Cameron is a very common girl's name here in the states. One of those names that started out as someone's surname, then morphed into a first name. Spelled a variety of ways, as you can see. Like Cameron Diaz, or Camryn Mannheim. (Both actresses) Very pretty name for a little girl, by the way. My grandmother had a good friend named Silver. Her father had made a fortune working in the silver mines in Nevada. :) Sierra deelightful3 24-06-2005, 16:27 i work with someone whos's grandaughter is called millan, and that is a made up name,i quite like it htough PerlOfWisdom 24-06-2005, 16:31 I know of someone called Jayne Jane. joyphil 24-06-2005, 16:39 Somewhere in Sheffield there is a bloke who got into trouble with the ever-soulless council for brightening up the verge outside his gaff with flowers. There was a story in one of the local rags about it. Picture acompanied it showing the offending floral display flanked by the man's two young English roses of daughters. They were rather fleshy roses, but that's hardly unusual these days. What did strike me is the way he'd nailed his aspirations to the mast by calling his luckless progeny Portia and Carrera. I like to think there may well have been a brother called Turbo, but he wasn't in the pic. I have a friend who in recent years organised a conference on peat conservation versus forestation. Quite how he found them is still a mystery, but two of his keynote speakers were Theresa Green and Heather Moore. Jabberwocky 05-12-2006, 21:41 It is a beautiful name.
