My mate has got a Toshiba Portege 3110CT, he wants me to install a CD rewriter and a bigger hard disk.

My question is : Will any Toshiba CD or hard disk fit in the laptop ?

I know hard disks are pretty much standardised but what about the CD ?

Any advice would be helpfull as I've never tackled a Toshiba before, I prefer Thinkpads.

Hard disks are all more of less the same, any new laptop drive will fit. CDROMs are a bit more diffcult, especally if they have differnt facias, and some of them have custom connectors.

Cheers Joel, thats what I though, I guess an external CD rom would be a safer bet, and would keep the laptop light.

Give me the serial number of the machine, or the PT number off the bottom and I can give you all the compatiable toshiba part numbers.
