What the...... where's all this window cleaning stif come from? redrobbo seems to have been making it up as I can't see the original posts anywhere. Did you quote them from another thread, about a window cleaner maybe?

btw, can't remember when I last saw my window cleaner, might have to check on that one, I know he's got a black jacket.

Our window cleaner's due soon. If it turns out that by chance he or a close friend or relative or maybe someone he knows or even lives nearish to has a red scooby, should I post that news on this thread? Or shall I first find out if he also cleans on the Cross? And, he's not Asian. I'm sure of that one. Does that count him out of a namecheck on here? Is it right to count someone out purely because they're not Asian ?

You shouldnt count anyone out of the equation. When this person was seen driving around, they 'appeared' to be asian, doesnt mean they are asian. Just look at that suspected bomber, he was 'assumed' to be asian, turned out to be Brazilian.

p.s. keep to topic, im not trying to turn this into a terrorist thread, was just using it as an example.

Ahhhhhhhh *drags the topic quickly back onto window cleaners and scooby drivers*..................

Maybe crunchie's driver just APPEARED to be Asian, in which case it would be ok to register my window cleaner's knowledge of scoobies, as long as he could appear to be Asian? Ie, on a dark night, behind tinted windows...............how sure is crunchie about the appearance of this driver, anyway???????

I think we should be told.

I'm selling my car, and becoming a window cleaner.

Would you go round the back of our house too? Cos the current one only does the front.............. but if you sell your car, then you won't be able to drive a scooby.

OK, been away for a break, Rome, well someone's got to go.
What didn't I see when over there?

Yep, you guessed it, not a single Subaru.
Asked everywhere.

In the Colosseum? No chance, some American said he'd seen one "back home" but don't reckon that's the one.

Forum (ancient Roman one that is), forget it. You couldn't drive anything on those cobbles unless you broke an axle. Did ask a Japanese bloke but, and this is the hardest part to believe, he said he'd never even heard of Parson Cross!!
That I do find suspicious.

Had an idea, very rarely does it happen but this one I thought was a sure fire winner.
Dragged the other half to see the big boss guy, you know, Pope fella.
Went up to his place, have to admit, very, very nice.
Not the usual sort of property you'd expect to find in Sheffield 5 but did have a certain "old world charm" about it.

Went inside and asked to see him, would you believe it he's away on holiday. Bl**dy cheek I thought but undetered asked one of his pals, nice grey haired guy wearing this years fashion statement.
He listened and I explained everything this thread has been about and, said he was a nice guy, he called over one of his mates, this one in a very smart suit, white shirt, shades the lot.
Took me by the arm, all this time herselfs doing the touristy bit, and led me to a quiet room.

That's when it got a bit nasty.
This suit asked me all manner of questions about "il Subaru". Asked if chrunchie was his (or her) real name, who was this redrobbo character and was Juicyb125 some sort of moll.

Was obvious that I'd get nowhere with him, after all I wanted the Pope guy to sort this out for us, he could have put a word in upstairs and before you could say United, it'd all be sorted.

I told him I had to be going 'cos a) he was a useless prat, b) why couldn't he ask a question without looking in a mirror and combing his hair, c) didn't like the way he referred to SheffieldForum (accompanied by a spit on the floor) d) said he wouldn't recognise a Subaru if it bit him in the arse 'cos he was used to poxy little Fiats e) I knew for certain that Paulo Maldeni was a 100% shirt lifter f) did a Basil Fawlty, yes I mentioned the war. Reminded him that the Italians wore plimsolls during the war so they could run away faster and g) finally lost it altogether, said that as far as I was concerned his town wasn't a patch on Sheffield and if they wanted to give the world an enema then they'd stick the tube in Rome 'cos it was an arsehole of a place.

Now for someone born and bred in Sheffield Park District I'm sure you'll agree that this was quite diplomatic and civilised. However it seems that your average Italian isn't used to being spoken to like this.

Now in my youth I've been asked to leave parties, pubs and girls bedrooms but never would I have thought that I'd be requested to leave St Peters in Rome.
With the aid of a few of his pals he showed me the door and passed one or two comments about my parentage, which I took to be non too complimentary

So ladies and gents, I'm sorry but my quest to solve this thread has been to no avail.
Apart from getting quite a few of you on various lists of undesirables in the Vatican City. Sorry about that.
Oh Litha, they were very interested in you, kept crossing themselves when I mentioned runes and stuff like that. If any swarthy Italians try to get in touch just deny everything. Unless I've done you a favour in which case don't forget me, please.

Not so sure it is real! but hey - who needs real?

The red subaru alert seems to have slowed down somewhat - not getting much call from crunchie - maybe he has found his red subaru and a match has been made in heaven?!

We need someone (ie you) to give it a kick start again or maybe it has had it's day and we should move on to new threads... poor red subaru, left lonely and dejected - what is a thread to do when it is no longer wanted?!:(

I'm still recovering from the most exciting thing that happened to me!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any more exciting that having one of these mythical red scoobies drive past my house too!

Ladies and gentlemen....

I FOLLOWED AN ACTUAL REAL READ SCOOBY THROUGH WOODHOUSE YESTERDAY!!!!

It had tinted windows, but reports of whether the occupants were of Asian appearance are unconfirmed.
It was last seen turning right at Coisley Hill roundabout, up Mosborough Parkway. WITHOUT INDICATING!!!

Juicyb125
29-07-2005, 20:37
Fantastic HazyJane - now the question is, what do you think could have been the best method whilst in your car to let everyone else know?

It can't be the pigeons as you obviously don't transport them with you all the time - mind you that is if you have pigeons in the first place.

The Scooby Light in the sky method - well you couldn't do that

The Indian smoke signals - probably wouldn't work unless you actually set light to something substantial - waving your lighter around wouldn't have worked.... mmmm let me think.... I have it!

I reckon we should use flares Big red flares for the red scooby.... would that have worked do you think HazyJane?

Maybe we have to find an outlet in Sheffield which sells them and keep them about our person all day long.

One last question - did the subaru have gold wheel trims? It is very important because without the wheel trims, we do not have the right subaru and without the right subaru we do not have CRUNCHIE!

Upon the conclusion of the 3rd. Woodseats forum meet on Friday night, Andy, BoroughGal, cherrynicole, J-blaze, Kristian, redrobbo, savbaby and Suprasteve piled into 2 taxis and drove to Parson Cross, followed by Captain_Scarlet in his car.

We searched all around 't Cross, but no sign of the red subaru alas.

We did see Suprasteve's silver Toyota Supra in Norton on Sunday afternoon though, (after he'd collected it from Newcastle-upon-Tyne that morning). Classy car Suprasteve

crunchie returns!

Let us deconstruct this latest posting by crunchie.

1. the red scooby driver always plays loud music. Note the key word here - "always". This suggests that crunchie is repeatedly seeing the red scooby.
2. crunchie expresses surprise that "no one else has seen it driving around".

So, what can we deduce from this latest information provided by crunchie?

1. No-one else is seeing this red scooby, only crunchie.
2. crunchie not only sees the red subaru, but is convinced it is "always" playing loud music.

I have professional expertise as a qualified psychiatric social worker, with over 30 years experience. I am coming to the conclusion that crunchie may be suffering from both visual and auditory hallucinations!

Is there any additional evidence that can support this theory? Well, let's look at crunchie's original post......

Worringly, is crunchie now fixating his delusional thoughts on two forummers? Is crunchie in danger of becoming a stalker?

Despite intense activity on the part of forummers to locate the scooby, all to no avail, crunchie sees the red scooby 4 times one day, then 3 times on halifax road! Why indeed is it that only crunchie ever sees the red subaru?

why would i see my self??

crunchie now appears to question his own sanity!

Yes, crunchie, why indeed is it only YOU who sees the red subaru?

no its not got tinted windows
its got gold wheels
and a gold colourded interior i think

Now, despite the red subaru "flying around", crunchie is able to see into the interior of the car - and through tinted wndows!

Conclusion: crunchie appears to be suffering from visual and auditory hallucinations, combined with delusional thoughts and a fixation complex (with early signs of developing stalker activity). The symptoms manifest themselves in a ritual
jealousy fixation (a red subaru) and a narcissistic projection (crunchie believes he fancies the driver, when, in reality, crunchie actually fancies himself!). Occasionally, crunchie is able to question his own sanity, but so strong is his delusional belief, that more than a month after his first post, he returns to the same question...... why is it that only crunchie sees the red scooby?

Why indeed? The answer, I believe, is all in crunchie's mind. And, I believe that I am going to make a fortune writing up these fascinating case notes for my first best seller. I shall make a mint, and, at last, be able to give up my day job....as a window cleaner!

Redrobbo, I'll ask those nice doctors and nurses to see if they can't find you a bed on the ward that I was in.

You get to lie down in darkened rooms for as long as you like and thay play nice background music along the lines of vroooooom vroooooom and you get to play with red model cars that have wide bore pipes and big rear spoilers.

The only thing you have to do is acknowledge that it's YOU with the problem, not chrunchie.

Be a man robbo, come on, you're here among friends, cleanse your soul, cast off the yolk of chrunchiedom, be immune to red Subarus once and for all, make a stand against the insiduous spread of mind numbing nonsense, say it, go on;

Here we see the very 1st statement that redrobbo wrote. redrobbo has admitted that even though it is his very 1st post on the Subaru thread that he is still thinking about crunchie, hence the 'idea', meaning that he has been thinking about this for some time, which is very worrying, especially for someone who at the time hadnt made any posts on the subject before.

SupraSteve is getting a silver Toyota Supra. It arrives by shipment from Japan on Wednesday. crunchie could go under cover and drive around Parson Cross with Suprasteve in search of the red Subaru driver.

Now comes the 1st signs of madness. redrobbo is clearly living in a dream world and has started to mix up reality with television, and clearly seems to think that a James Bond 007 type operation is needed for someone who just happened to see a red Subaru.

Well.... it might solve the mystery, and finally put this thread to bed - before I go insane! :headbang:

This is another sign of redrobbos madness coming out, as redrobbo seems to think that threads can 'sleep', as you can see by the statement 'put this thread to bed'. This is another case of mixing up fiction with reality.

Also redrobbo has admitted himself that he is going mad, which can be seen by the headbanging smilie. Is this a sign of things to come. I certainly think so, and all can be revealed in later posts from redrobbo as I shall discuss further down.

I think I've just seen the very one - drove past my house in Lowfield (South Sheffield) not 5 mins ago. Couldn't make out who the driver was though. Anyone else noticed?

Here we now see a clasic case of double personality and schizophrenia coming out. redrobbo is now thinking that he is now indeed crunchie, and is now acting in a crunchie way, by questioning if other people have seen the red Subaru. It is also strang that redrobbo should tell us that the Subaru was seen "not 5 mins ago". This is a sign of delusion as why would we want to know when he did NOT see the Subaru. That is like me saying that I did NOT see the Subaru a week ago on Tuesday.

In the UK, men are more prone to colour blindness than women. Also, the usual colour blindness is the red-green spectrum. Ipso facto, crunchie may think he is looking for a red subura, but in fact it is green!

crunchie - when did you last get your eyes tested :?

Signs of schizophrenia are even stronger now, here we see that redrobbo is now taaking the stance that he is now in fact an optician, and feels that we should all know what he now considers to be very interesting facts relating to eyes. Followed up by a question to Crunhie about when he last had his eyes tested.

So far, we can deduce that redrobbo thinks that he is an optician who is organising an operation in a James Bond movie, but does not realise that this is reality. Very worrying.

But you avoided answering the question about when you last got your eyes tested. You're not in denial are you?

redrobbos facination on being an optician has grown very strong now and here you can see the bullying tactics in getting crunchie to admit the last time he had his eyes tested, as redrobbo clearly wants to test them for him. We can see redrobbos persistence with this matter.

crunchie's now been searching for the mysterious red subaru since 23 June. Don't give up hope though crunchie - just look at all the forummers attracted to this thread (now 10 pages long!). Surely, you'll have a breakthrough soon?

redrobbo now has a fixation on the whole matter just as much as Crunchie. redrobbos statement about the date that Crunchie has been searchnig for the Subaru gives the impression that redrobbo has now been making notes in his notepad about all this, presumably to give to Miss Moneypenny.
Also earlier redrobbo clearly stated that he wanted this 'thread put to bed', but here we can see that this is not the case. He has just told Crunchie not to give up hope, which means that now redrobbo wants this thread to continue for as long as possible, which can only mean that redrobbo wants this to continue as he knows that he will have nothing else to live for if this thread ends.

redrobbo is now once again telling us about things that have NOT happened. Looks like the insanity is getting stronger and worse.

VROOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

crunchie just went past then, u see him?

Tut tut tut. Theres not much I need to say about this. What seemed a very sane person has turned into a mental case in the matter of a few posts. redrobbo seems to think that writing VROOOOM.... will make people that they have seen a car. Btu what redrobbo fails to realise is that "VROOOOM......" is just a load of letters and is seen on people computers screen and is not actually a car or in fact a noise, but it looks like redrobbo actually believe that it may be a car making an actual real noise.

Once again redrobbo unconsciously admits that he is going nuts. This is not the 1st time, and surely will not be the last time.

Here redrobbo now seems to think that a manhunt is needed to catch Crunchie. This is a classis case of madness, where redrobbo believes Crunchie is the evil bad guy, and redrobbo is a cross between James Bond and an optician. Also notice the word "OUR", which means that redrobbo thinks that Crunchie is some sort of possesion, perhaps a trophy.

Here is the proof that redrobbo has now 100% mixed up reality to fiction, as redrobbo is now certain that this is now a very important matter and that Crunchie must be caught andhad his eyes tested immediately, as you can see by his anger at anyone who seems to think its all a joke. Just look at the backlash that Granma got. Very worrying

A bit like sying "get off my property" to those that trespass. redrobbo is a very interesting case.

Now im not going to post all the qoutes, but check page 17, and you will clearly see redrobbo make 8 posts in a row. Everyone knows that talking to yourself is the 1st sign of madeness. In redrobbos case the 6th sign of madess, but a sign of madness none-the-less

* If you haven't seen it yet - look up the 'brown lada alert in sheffield' thread folks!

Here we see that redrobbo has once again unconscioulsy admitted that he dreams about this and is showing that he is a mental case. The Brown Lada statement is there as an attempt to throw us off the scent, but we all know that redrobbo doesnt really dream about brown Ladas, and that his only fixation is Red Subarus and Crunchie. Perhaps redrobbos is sectretly hoping that its him that Crunchie fancies? This could be the case.

hmmmm. now redrobbo says here that only Crunchie has seen the Scooby, when further up redrobbo clearly tried to fool us by making a subaru noise by using letters and text on a forum to attempt to trick us into believing it was a Red Subaru. Has redrobbo already forgotten about his attempt or has the madness got so strong now that he cant even remember what day it is let alone what he has already told us.

I've read the posts from PhilipB, spyro2000, 40summat and Juicyb125. May I take this opportunity, in one of my more lucid moments, to thank you for your concerns over the state of my own mental health.

I have to confess to taking a taxi with friends and family last Friday night (at the conclusion of the Woodseats forum meet) - and we went over to Parson Cross looking for the red subaru.

I now realise that this thread is taking over my life, even to the extent of organising a posse to search around the Cross for the red scooby in the dead of night, and by taxi, and from Woodseats! I think I am indeed losing grip on reality?

I saw a red subaru, the driver appeared to be asian and he had gold wheel trims, he drew up next to me in his car and smiled - nice looking chap.... but there's a problem, quite a major problem actually and one which leads me to believe that he isn't the red subaru that crunchie is looking for..... the location of said subaru was Croydon - South London. :x

Do you think it was crunchie's subaru but on a holiday? Though why anyone would want to holiday in Croydon is beyond me. :gag: :loopy:

I probably think not... which seems to confirm my suspicions that there are TWO yes TWO identi subarus driving around albeit at different ends of the country! :o

Now the question is Crunchie - do you want me to keep an eye out for this subaru? Mind you I don't go to Croydon very often, but I can always keep my eyes open while I am down here?

Has this branch gone into second hand Subarus? It is S5 afterall.

Chrunchie, mate, just one serious question.

Are you totally sure that posting on forums is for you?
You've started off another thread of twaddle now about Halfords, just what is it with you?

Ask yourself, how come so many of us have been convinced that there is some grand plan that we have searched for, our Holy Grail.
Have all the sleepless nights been as a result of a hoax?

Sorry, I don't buy it.

Lost in the hostile world where red Subarus can't come and save us.
All the tormented souls that have posted on this thread have now to face something that we've been able to ignore; REALITY.

What is it?
How do we recognise it?

Be honest with yourself, if not me, but can you, or any of you, look at a Subaru of any colour again and not be brought straight back to this thread?

'Fraid we're stuck with it and each other.

I saw a black subaru last Friday evening on the M18.
It was operating as a plain clothes police car (with blue lights flashing) and was chasing a high speed motorist - who was crazily weaving in and out of all three lanes of traffic whilst tying to avoid his pursuers. The driver eventually pulled over onto the hard shoulder, and the cops jumped out of the black subaru to nick the guy. Everyone was driving past peeping their horns

It was nearly as exciting as reading this whole thread!:hihi:

I saw a guy in a silver Subaru recently who looked a lot like a guy I saw a while ago in a red Subaru who i think I saw before that in a similar red Subaru with a big ruddy rat painted down the side of it. He's always smiling he is.

Having read the majority of this post (man i must have been bored lol)

I just want to and my thought on Subaru's etc

While I'm sure they are great cars, why Oh Why do people who drive them think that we want to hear their cars from 7 miles away

and why do they always seem to drive past my house every night just as my kids are going to sleep ?

It really winds me up, Cant wait for the speed bumps to be put on our road lol

that should slow em down

Holy thread revival batman!

Ever since this thread I've been on the lookout for a red Impreza but have only seen one in Rotherham previously. Now today, finally I've seen it live in the flesh in Sheffield. It must be the one. 8:45 ish on the Prince of Wales Eastbound.

Not an Impreza expert but it looked like an My94-96 sti with 2.5 diameter stainless exhaust. Would have liked a play, but within the built up section of the ring road this wasnt going to happen unfortunately.

Unwashed red? Hard to tell at night.

Apologies to anyone who clicks on every single thread in the listing, but this mission never had a satisfactory ending to my mind.

Clearly the owner went 'dark' once he realised there was a forum conspiracy to track his movements and has only just resurfaced.

Well there's someone in our road with one and he's a right t*at. Known amongst the neighbours as "the oldest boy racer in town" he's fat, balding, wears glasses and drives like a maniac. We live on a narrow road with a blind bend and lots of kids playing out on bikes, skateboards etc. and he comes blasting down it like the brainless idiot he is. The only looks he gets are people pointing and laughing. Sooner he does himself some damage in it (without hurting anyone else) the better.
