I worked in the accounts department, at Royds Mill, between 1965 and 1970. Maurice Upton was the Accounts Manager, a Mr Elerby (Company Secretary) and George Wilkinson as his deputy. I worked in an office with Martin Cobb, Mary, Dorothy and Pauline. There was also Geoff Hodder and Cec (?).The general office comprised, amongst others, Doulas Sterling (who once tried to sell me a clapped out Triumph Mayflower, Vaughan Eyres, Mike (Rowland?) and many other good lads and lasses.

I have many happy memories of my time there and if you remember John Morris I would be happy to here from you.

Bye for now.

There are other threads which relate to Thessco elsewhere on SF. Might be worth checking out. I'm still trying to find out if any old Smelting Co folk recall Eddie Hallam, who was, I think, in metallurgy before leaving to run an operation at Riber Castle.
Also, anyone recall a couple of ex-Arundel Street Thessco people who moved down to Royds Mill when 95 closed. I am thinking of Tommy Knowles and Ivan Priestley.

Hello. Eddie Hallam here - alive and well and still in Riber!

Glad to hear that, Eddie. Fond memories of your visits to 95 A Street, and, of course, the last time we met was up at Riber. And that was a long, long time ago!
