So you'd be happy lose those 5 games to throw our play off hopes off track???

How about getting behind e'm & still having a late surge for the play offs yourself.
Still possible for you Wendy's to go down you know & lose all those 5 games you'll be right back in the relegation myre.

Suppose you'd be happy to go down though if it threw a spanner into our play off hopes:loopy:

I'm sure Mr Benn was only having a bit of a joke.

And lets not fuel the blunts fires by suggesting we have play off hopes.

I'm still simply aiming for the safety of 53 points.

yep wendy's season's over. better sides ahead of them for them to challenge play offs. and some poor sides behind them that i cant see catching them up.
but its a funny ole game.

so all in all could do with wendy taking something off swansea and preston at least. reading and wolves i've stopped bothering about.

as for us. if its the united that played against wendy and donny then no chance. if its the united that played against hull then very good chance.

all blades arnt we.

yep funny old month wednesday have had , the delirious celebration of a rare double against us , then coming down to earth when barnsley do the same to them for the first time in 60 odd years. not quite as bid a deal now is it. Well done barnsley on your double, the form book goes out of the window on derby day.

we will finish round mid table ,were not good enough for the play offs ,so if losing to the teams in the top six to enable them to finsh above the blunts ,so be it .;)

If you lose all 5, it would set the mould for the remainder of the season... do you know how hard it is to get out of a slump when losing games. Go ask Charlton.

At the moment the Owls are safe, but lose all them 5 and you will start to wonder.

i cant believe there are owls that dont think theres a chance we wont get dragged into the relegation zone. even with the games in hand other teams have we are 10 points away, we lose all 5 of those games and other teams below us pick up just a couple of wins it could reduce it to 4 points. i dont think we will get 0 points from all 5 games so it is a worst case senario but it could happen

Simply put Robbie, After the Pigs beat us they thought they might be play-off bound.
Losses to Donny and Barnsley have effectively ended their season early so once again its another season of mid table mediocrity.
Now all they have to hold on for the rest of the season is hoping the Blades dont make the play-offs...Sad being a piggy but, hey ho they finally did the Double after 95 tries ;)

most owls didnt think we could make the playoffs but while it was ,mathematicaly possible then no harm hoping we could. still enough points to play for to reach the playoffs, so not over yet but not likely to now, especially with the month coming up. season isnt over anyway till we definately cant make playoffs and cant be relegated

Every one has a chance of the play offs, that is what makes them so good.

Hull last season, Derby the year before, Watford the year before all got to the Premier League and were openly tipped for the bottom echelons of the league.

The play offs should be a minimum aim for anyone in this league. As people say, anyone can beat anyone in this league (well The Blades can't beat the good teams - but hey) and a push can always be done.

Another example for you MrBenn is - Swansea have just been promoted and are doing a good push for the play offs. Have they spent loads of money? Should they be looking just to stay up?

For anyone to be "happy" mid-table obscurity - for me is daft.

I'm not sure many of us made 'playoff' claims CB, maybe one or two of our infamous posters did, but overrall, if you look back to the beginning of the season threads, most Wednesday fans predicted a 9th to 16th kind of finish, and I don't think many have changed their minds since.
You ARE doing a great job with the Predictions League though, never mind what some people have read in to it!

I don't think he means 'happy' with the situation.
I reckon most Wednesday fans would be content with a mid table finish.
Being in and around the relegation zone for 30 games a seaon is not good for one's nerves, and it's easier on the 'stress monitor' to be where we are at the moment.
I have an awful feeling about our position after the next six games though. :(

Don't forget daffy, you lost your cup final in the derby.
Wouldn't you just love Swansea, Palace, and the like to win every single one of their remaining games and pick up loads and loads of points?
You'll be in the same league as us again next season, so there's loads to look forward to.
Just drop the 'Wednesday's Cup Final' bit ..... it's not our Cup Final, just a more important game than the norm, exactly the same as you!

Of course its your Cup Final, you put on 2 blinding displays v us (well one and a dodgy refing decision) then you lose to Donny and the Dingles.

How come Laws can get you up for the big en but can't get you lot going to the more 'simple' matches?

In the 91/92 season you were our Cup Final, the big match, local rivals, been above us in the league for most of the last 12yrs, still lauding the BDM over us, spending big time, just won their first Cup in 50 odd years, did we raise our game against you, damn right we did.

Forget the Washing Machine Cup and top 3 in the League, football has changed beyond recognition, Wednesday or United will NEVER been a top 3 side.

Wednesday have a number of fans who were still in twinkle in their dads eye when you won the league cup or finished in the top 3, beating the Blades might not mean much to you personally but for a number of younger fans (and players), Spurr, Wood and Beevers, this is thier Cup Final - the biggest match they've played in against a team who for their adult life have been the top team in Sheffield.

You're kidding yourself Earwiggo, we're your big match of the season, it can make or break your season losing to us.

Going to disagree with you Earwiggo, I quite clearly remember you being 5th in the table for about a day and a half and everyone going gaga :D

As for the Prediction League, I do my best , It brings a bit of fun to the Forum and usually its the one thread that doesn't detiriorate into a slagging match, and people can read into what they want, If they predict great, if they dont wanna be a part of it thats alright with me too.

Wednesday can do it in fits and spurts.

You played very well against us and decent against Brum on the box the other week, i think you'll be able to get something in the home matches.

Watford are terrible and i think Wednesday have a good chance down there.

It's a mystery to thousand of Wednesday fans why we are very good, or good against some 'better' teams, then absolutely dire against 'lesser' opposition. If BL or anyone else could put their finger on why, then we would obviously be a better team.

That game is now in the past (don't like to talk about it), and Wednesday's most important game is the next one against Colin's Palace. :(
If we had have lost to you at the Lane, or Hillsborough, it wouldn't have broken our season, the same as beating you twice has not catapulted us in to the stratosphere of the League leaders.
I stick by what I posted earlier.
