Is there any point to the Confederations Cup?
Or is it just another way for FIFA to rake in the cash?

You could ask the same question of any national or international football tournament.

I dont mind games like this. The more football the better imo.

i think the world cup started in the same manner, most european countries didnt participate because it was in south america and thought it was waste of time. and now its the biggest event in the world

The confederations cup is extremely useful. It is a tester for Germany before they hold the world cup next year. They try out many security procedures and expereiment with grounds and routes to grounds and stuff like that. This way the world cup will run more smoothly.

And the players love it. Every player wants to play for their country, try telling them it's a mickey-mouse tournament.
