Topic.

I'm taking my grading for Purple belt (4th Kyu) next Saturday, and I'd like to know if there's a good book I could either aquire from the Library or buy on Amazon et al about the Pinan Katas, such as Pinan Nidan, Sandan, Shodan, Yondan and Godan?

Need a quick response to this as the grading's less than a week away in Chapeltown.

You would be better off asking in the sheffield sports section

Try "The beginners guide to Shotokan Karate" by John Van Weenen. Excellent book covers all the Kata`s move by move with all the bunkai.

Thanks, I'll have a look for that on Amazon.

Just ordered the book, although I suspect stupid Amazon will refuse my Maestro card so I'll have to call in Waterstone's this week! :loopy:
