I know we haven't got much choice at the minute but Leon Clarke is shocking, he misses so many guilt edged chances its untrue, i think Law's should have at least gave Boden a chance while we were stuggling up front, the kid must be wondering when his chance will ever come, ok i said play off's a few weeks ago but it was over the top for sure, isnt it about time we tried some of these fringe players to see how good they really are,
Modest look's a good prospect as doe's Boden.
Leon Clarke was talked about this week about getting a new contract in the star, lets hope that was a misprint.

That's harsh to single out Clarke. He was getting into form before he got injured, and I thought he played reasonably well against united.

He's hit the bar in the last two games, on another day, he would have scored. Boden is a decent prospect, but he's being billed as a midfielder, so no he wouldn't be an improvement on Clarke up front.

Clarke could have scored 20 already this season with the chances he seems to get himself, he has missed shed loads m8 and you know it.

He wasn't good at the beggining of the season, but he has been out injured and he hasn't been picked for every game. That period before he got injured, he was looking good and scored quite a few goals. He's comeback and looked ok, give him a few games, and I think he'll bag a few. People are too quick to jump on Clarke's back, I have been his biggest critic at times.

at the moment we have no choice but to play him. i dont think he could ever be the answer to our scoring problem but its a bit harsh just to single him out. if you look at tudgay i belive he has missed a few sitters/easy chances but he is always more likely to score than clarke. i hope its wrong that he is going to get a new contract though, surely we can find someone better who can bag a few more goals

Its not hard getting more than Sharp is it? and Ward will probably play most of his games coming on as a sub.

I still think hes great!

Swap for Billy?

We'll swap him for one of your strikers who's scoring at the moment.

We'll have Stead - he's scoring lots at the moment. Oh hang on, you had to sell him.

Ok, we'll swap him for Hulse - he's scoring lots at the moment. Oh hang on, you had to sell him.

Ok, we'll swap him for Beattie - he's scoring lots at the moment. Oh hang on, you had to sell him.

(Anyone see a pattern emerging here?) :hihi:

To be honest, we are scoring enough at the moment without a big goal scorer.. The super versatile Halford is getting a few, Henderson gets a few, Ward looks dangerous at times when he comes off the bench.. and Lupoli looks good. Goals are coming from the midfield (sometimes).. Webber and Sharp are just ****.

I take it all back. He was shocking tonight. As was most of the team. Dingle's goal, was ushocking defending from us, no one wanted to put a foot into Campbell Ryce.

I know everyone doesnt agree with your fixed odds but nearly every one must agree with your first post on this thread.......especially after tonights peformance. He cant pass a ball, control a ball.......

Can't believe that somebody can become a professional footballer whilst being completely unable to control a football. Come to think of it I can, we've had plenty of them.

Clarke is so ungainly with the ball at his feet it's untrue. He's like Tony Cunningham on rophynol.

It seems a few cracks are appearing in Wednesday fan's armour.
The Forest, Donny and Barnsley results have done nothing to curb the beginnings of unrest.
Hope the next few results calm things down a bit, but March's fixtures are looking more and more daunting.
It's going to be a very difficult next month or so. :(

clarke has had some decent games recently like against utd but tuesday night and the other poor performances show he could never be a first team regular. jeffers hasnt scored as many as clarke and it debatable how many more he will get this season but i'd sooner him be in than clarke, his overall play is much better than clarke

Quite agree Dave pal, Leon Clarkes first touch at times is very poor, ok he can hold the ball up and he's strong but all in all he's not good enough its as simple as that really.
As you say Jeffer's doesn't score many, but his creative play is good and he's got a good shot on him unlike Clarke, Franny was just starting to show signs of full fitness before his 3 match ban so i think he'll definately play on Saturday.
