DLP, I would recomend the Optoma HD700X (its a ~£400 projector and crisp image)

Second hand isnt advisable, as there's no garuntee on lamp life, and you could end up spending another £100+ on a lamp within a week.

Always go DLP rather than lcd projection

I would second that there a lot more crisp and brighter. I had a lcd one and that was terrible, the dlp one is a lot better. Bought it second hand 2 years ago of here and still working great.

You don’t need particularly high res one if you’re all your doing is PowerPoint so you'll be able to get a fairly cheap one as ghozer suggested.

Your biggest consideration will probably be brightness - Most projectors these days are around 1200 lumens which is adequate for a screen up to about 1-1.5m diagonal in dim to low-ish light. If you want to use it in well lit environment without having to dim the lights you'd be better off getting something in the 1500-2500 range.

I have an Optoma H30 that I may consider selling - only problem is I have lost the remote, however all functions can be controlled on the unit itself...

Specs can be found here :

Would want 350.00 for it as it comes with a brand new spare lamp which cost over 200.00
