I very rarely take rescues in now as the last monitor lizard i took in ended up here for over a year and cost me a fortune in food to keep....Fortunately I now have a lot of contacts who will rehome them and find them good homes.. helenasq 15-02-2009, 08:55 I hope you don't mind me posting on here, but I just wanted to say that lots of people seem to be parting with rabbits too. I've taken in a few recently(I won't be selling them though). People just seem to find it so easy to part with their once loved pets. I can't do that, all my pets are my responsibility and I owe them to provide a good home for the rest of their lives. They are part of my family. Btw nighthawk, the rats I got from you are still doing well, they are gorgeous girls. ( Just to make it clear nighthawks rats were babies, not one's he'd got fed up of) Moonbird 15-02-2009, 11:36 I hope you don't mind me posting on here, but I just wanted to say that lots of people seem to be parting with rabbits too. They were gorgeous lizards knighthawk 16-02-2009, 12:38 That's great nighthawk. They were gorgeous lizardsThanks ...at least now there away from abuse and are living a happy life in a purpose made environment and on a proper diet.. It makes me sick how some people treat animals... carpetviper 17-02-2009, 17:16 It is quite funny how there's a fine line on what's classed a taking in and rescuing animal and what's classed as just after free pets. Most people know on here I have taken in hundreds of reptiles and I would say that 99% I rehome I don't take any money for the animals I rescue I get more reward knowing that they get a forever home. I also think it's irresponsible to take in more than you can handle also as this just means that you end up neglecting them all that's the reason that once I know an animal is ok to be rehomed I regime it. The only animals that you will ever see me sell here are ones that I have purchased and there will always have been a massive thought process put into it before I make a final decision. All I can say is some people are genuine some aren't it's usually the ones that aren't that seem to be shouting out the loudest for animals. |
