I know, I know - it's been done before, and I've tried a couple of things suggested on other threads, but have concluded that starting from scratch is probably the best way to go at this point

and yes - I AM blonde - so words of one syllable are best when talking computers please! :P

Right - this thing is a Dell lattitude, with a card in the side which flashes like it's doing something really important, but I can't see any wireless networks via the darn thing

If I plug the ethernet cable in, I can access the router set up pages - but having prodded a few things, I've decided not to make any more mess

What do I need to check, and what do I do next? :help:

try uninstalling it, and re-installing the wireless card [start a fresh]

see if you can pick up a access point that way

connect to the router set up page and make sure its set to broadcast the wi-fi identity
otherwise youll not see it on your comp

Have you got the wireless capability of your laptop switched on (on mine it's function F2)? can you see any networks at all ie any neighbours?
