Earwiggo 12-02-2009, 22:56 Hope I'm wrong Corky old boy, but I feel a rather large 'BUMP' coming our way on Saturday.
Hopefully, BL will make me eat my words and get the lads in the right frame of mind, but I just feel ......... you know?

That was a great game. Freezing cold and was stood on the crappy bank, with an awful view. Fell over each time we scored

Nice to see your confidence m8 after the first double on United in a million year's, were never gonna beat Man Utd or Liverpool any time soon so id say thats as good as were gonna get right now, a bit of confidence is in order young man :suspect:
NERVY-OWL 12-02-2009, 23:11 wednesday can beat most teams in this league but whenever we get a decent result it goes wrong next game. besides if i dont expect much i cant be disappointed:thumbsup:

It's what you expect when you're a Wednesdayite. Never changes, it's just a bonus when they do the unexpected. Oh hum!

I suppose your right to an extent but id never go to a game expecting to lose, its just not my sort of take on thing's how could you really after a great win like that, we had massive injury problems at Oakwell and suffered because of that and Mcmahon getting sent off, even though we were down to ten men we were the better side for the majority of the game.
NERVY-OWL 12-02-2009, 23:28 i always go knowing they can win and against barnsley i will be at the match expecting and knowing they are capable of winning but it doesnt get that doubt out of my head. i am certainly one of those pessimistic fans but i will never go booing players or anything, i just know wednesday are that unpredictable anything can happen
SpeedwayDan 13-02-2009, 08:30 Donny play some great passing football, luckily at Hillsborough they didn't know what to do in the final third, but now it seems they've been scoring lately, so could be a tough game.
Looking forward to going, never been to the Keepmoat, although it does just look like the rest of those lifeless new bowl stadiums.

My fears entirely.
After saying that, I'll leave it in the very capable hands of Brian Laws and the staff.
BTW, Wednesday 'fan' Sam Ellis is doing a FANTASTIC job in coaching football out of the Slugs!! :)
Tee Hee .... Guffaw, guffaw!! :hihi: :hihi:
Panthera 13-02-2009, 14:04 never been to the Keepmoat, although it does just look like the rest of those lifeless new bowl stadiums.
100% right mate, you know when they call the team names out and the crowd cheers for each player, there its like no atmophere at all, the bottom half of the stadium is built on breeze blocks and the top half is tin foil. In fact the best thing about donny stadium pre match is the cheerleaders
doubletop 13-02-2009, 21:07 wednesday win again 1-0 i think
Think it will be a tough one tmrw with Doncaster on a bit of a role but that should make for a good game with Wednesday in good spirits too.
Really glad they have managed to rearrange the Barnsley game so quickly too.

Well done to Donny, no surprise they won today - only five points behind Wednesday now too... with the way they're playing, they might even overtake them!
im not too dissopointed in losing today- i want Donny to stay up and we are mid table ,so not a big problem if it helps donny stay up.

According to the Rovers fans so far on P&G (so probably not that unbiased!), they reckon Wednesday were reduced to a lot of hoofball today, as Rovers outplayed them...

joshtetley 14-02-2009, 19:05 Just a big praise to donny today,well done.
Well done Donny! sounds like they deserved it. Lucky to be still in the game at half time. Pleased Wednesday picked up in the 2nd half but wasn't to be this time. :)
CorkerSWFC 14-02-2009, 20:05 Donny were all over us for 90 minutes of the game Leon Clarke is shocking how many more guilt edged chances is he going to miss.
Another thing i have to say aswell is Gray and Potter were absoloutly nowhere today, a complete change from there debut's.
Well done Donny fair doe's to em they have found out to score after how many game's.
Thingything 15-02-2009, 01:16 Totally outplayed us,we deserved bugger all and got it,good job donny aint got much up front or it couldve been a lot worse
bladebloke 15-02-2009, 11:41 thanks for that view corkers and thingy. 2 honest pigs who follow their team.
notice old front bottoms missing. try's to give it but refuses to take it ooooo errrr mrs.
all blades arnt we.
NERVY-OWL 15-02-2009, 12:18 it wouldnt surprise me if donny finish above us now they have worked out how to score. how many chances did clarke miss? did he even give modest a go up front? as i said before the game i didnt expect a win. if they still didnt know how to score then i'd of epected a draw, oh well, on to the barnsley game. we really need a win against barnsley, think we're around 10-12 points away from relegation zone so could do with getting a couple of wins, maybe then laws will give some youngsters a chance
thanks for that view corkers and thingy. 2 honest pigs who follow their team.

mickyhix 15-02-2009, 17:24 i think the difference here is that us owls can admit when we were outplayed and not jump on the managers/refs back all the time. lol.

Earwiggo 16-02-2009, 09:31 No surprise losing at Donny.
They've outplayed nearly every team in every game this season, but all too often have come out on the losing side.
O'Driscoll has stuck to his guns, the fans have been well entertained, and in fairness, have not got on the manager or the player's backs throughout.
Keep it up Donny, football the way it should be played.
Deserved and got nothing on Saturday, and could easily have been 3-0 down at half time.
Every goal we concede seems to be someone making a run down rthe right, putting a cross in, and someone heading it in; and there have been plenty of them away from home. The goal on Saturday was almost a replica of Birmingham's equaliser.
Had a feeling all week we were going to get nothing there either. (I am informed that the only time we have lost to them before, was in a similar pasting to that which Dresden was getting the same week!)
As others have said all credit to Donny. They play good football (same as O'Driscoll did at Bournemouth). I hope they stay up, as long as it is not at our expense.
Hate to say it but well done to Donny, don't mind losing to them too much as they're a team in form at the moment and playing some good football.
al_partridge 16-02-2009, 13:52 Can't argue with the fact that Doncaster deserved to win. They're the form team in the division so it was probably the worst time to play them. Probably the best footballing team I've seen this season (twice), and if they had a couple of quality strikers they'd be much higher in the table than they are.
However, I don't agree with some comments that they were all over us for 90 minutes and could have battered us. They had a spell of about 20-25 minutes before half time when they were playing some great stuff, without any cutting edge up front, but before that and for long periods of the second half it was pretty even with neither keeper being seriously troubled.
Very disappointing performance from Wednesday, with no real tactics for much of the game other than to hoof it at Clarke's head.
