Hi Everyone

Do we have any wildlife sanctuary's round here - Yorkshire/Derbyshire area?

The Chesnut centre is an otter and owl sanctuary and is just past castleton.it's really good but people with mobility problems may struggle as you have to go down into the valley bottom and then all the way back up again.

Yes, it's a nice trip out. There's plenty to see and a small cafe at the entrance ( just sells drinks and cakes if I remember rightly) not sure of opening times. Out towards Chapel-en-le frith. Google Chestnut Centre for details

Cool, thanks. I will have a look at it.

I am looking for somewhere to do some volunteering and fancied working with wildlife, I have had a google but could only find one, thats why I posted. Anymore we are aware of ?

There is also Freshfields donkey sanctuary - thats lovely to visit

potteric carr run by the yorkshire wildlife trust , just off the m18 , near the yorkshire outlet, is good if you like birdwatching.

I have been there it was nice but I got chased by a donkey!! Ha Ha! I was trying to be the calm mummy saying to the kids it's ok just keep walking all the time donkey is gaining on us!! I won't look at a donkey the same again.

:hihi:Sounds fun:hihi: - the first time we went I had a coat with an elastic toggle on it, one of the donkeys came up and twanged it - It blooming well hurt :rant::hihi:! It's certainatley a nice day out and Annie and John are always really welcoming.
