View Full Version : Is Kevin Blackwell right here?
CorkerSWFC 12-02-2009, 20:36 "Apart from this week, which has been the lowest since I got here, I have enjoyed my time here and I am very proud of the football club.
"I came in this weekend last year and we were fourth or fifth from bottom, now we have restructured the club, raised money and we are fifth from top.
"They are the Premier League club coming here, technically they are the favourites, but let's see how they handle that."
I can't remember you being 4th or 5th from bottom last season at this stage, and what's he on about raising money, he's only been there 5 minute's
joshtetley 12-02-2009, 21:02 I listend to him on radio sheff tonight and he has lost the plot.

We were in the relegation zone for a while when Robson was here, hes probably right with 5th from bottom if not hes very close.. We wernt doing very well anyway.
pressure is getting to him:hihi:
will be right about 5th from bottom, i remember one match if we lost and others won we could have dropped into bottom 3! hoped we would lose so they could get shut of robson quicker but we bloody won..
but at the moment the football is just as c**p as then....
Earwiggo 12-02-2009, 22:53 I really think Blackclock is at snorkel depth and sinking.
I shunt say this really, but when he's gone, I'd break the bank to get Glenn Hoddle up to Sheff.
If you did that, then I would really start to worry.
Top, top manager albeit with some strange quirks.
On second thoughts, keep Blackclock! :)

Robbie Loving 13-02-2009, 11:51 Hoddle would definitely be a good optin, as said very strange. but a good manager
Robbie Loving 13-02-2009, 11:57 As for being 4th or 5th from the bottom, well that is a lie.

Will show us as being 16th with is 9th from the bottom.
We had 12 points less than we currently do now though with the same games played.

Im not even a Blade and i knew that was wrong, if Blackwell can't get it right then its time to worry he is the manager after all.
Earwiggo 13-02-2009, 12:21 You must be kidding with Hoddle!
No I'm not kidding.
Did a great job at Swindon, Chelsea and England.
Apart from his 'off the field activities', he'd probably still be there, and very successful.
He knows the game inside out, and his man management skills are second to none.

As someone said earlier on this thread, or maybe on another one, Blackwell is overdoing the 'I'm a Blade' rantings.
He's not, and he never will be.
He may not even be there cum April.....
Our Brian dunt claim to be an Owl every 5 minutes.
Don't know who he supports, but he's not an Owl.
Can't fault his passion for the club though.... top geezer!

To be fair, great supporters the Newcs, but aren't they having to put up with some crap?

They weren't so great ion the 80's when only 10,000 used to turn up.

We've all had those times Robbie, but overrall, they're tremendous fans.
CorkerSWFC 13-02-2009, 13:06 Newcastle are good fan's to be fair, like you say they have had to put up with some right ups and downs over the last few years.

they are a regular premiership side. sign super stars from all over the world and are the biggest moaners going. when they were struggling in our division there ground was empty. good fans are there through thin and thinner times like the likes of the 3,000 rotherham fans who turn up every week. or yer colchesters, and torquays of this world. nobodys crowd fluctuates more than newcastles from bad to good times. even wendys.
