URGENT NEED OF NEW HOMES! Can Be Taken Seperate.

Hi,

Unfortuantly me and my friend have just lost our flat due to a new landlord taking over. So we have had to move out as of today.

The thing is we have 2 dogs. A rescue rottweiler who is around 1 year old but the nicest dog you will ever meet. I know what people say about rottweilers but Rocky is lovely so loving and really would like him to go to a new home. We got Rocky as he was with an owner who was beating him and abusing him and we have shown him a loving home. Hes really comical and thinks hes about the size of a yorkshire terrier he loves to snuggle with you and is friendly with anyone. We are 2 women and hes fine with us. He doesnt really like other dogs he doesnt know although him and the Labrador get on great! Hes still only young so does need some training with him but he is good with commands and is house trained he also knows when hes been naughty and can give paw and lay down etc.

The 2nd dog is the 1 yr old Labrador known as Theodore (Chipmunks) but will answer 2 Theo. Hes a typical Labrador and we have had him since he was born. Hes around half of his full size now as the attached picture shows and is also house trained if puppy pads are put down or let on regularly. He can be really giddy for the 1st 10 minutes or so but soon calms down and enjoys to play.

We have nowhere for these dogs to go and they are going to the RSPCA tommorow and they will hold them for 7days if no-one comes for them in this time they will be put to sleep which we really dont want.

Please someone if you know anyone who may be interested i would be so happy to hear from you!

Kindest Regards,

Kellyanne

We have been informed that Theo can get rehoused by someone but Rocky will more than likely be put down. He has a cist in his neck which i can get seen to by the PDSA for free for anyone. But no-one will take a Rotty on nowadays they here to many bad things. Im so sad to give them up but would really like to find them a home. I know someone will jump at the chance of theo as he has full papers im more worried about Rocky. We have tried everywhere today even the police have been involved in this due to the situation as we was locked out of our property last night and the landlord would not let us get our dogs which we now have of course.

Are the dogs going to the shelter in town or the one at attercliffe?

whats wrong with keeping them? my family (3 kids 1 male american 8 st bulldog, 2 cats and a fella) were made homeless last yr, 6 months all in all before we were homed back in sheffield, but the animals were never going anywhere.... If you dont have a true love for dogs, do us a favour n dont bother. No brownie points from me im afraid for rescueing the dogs, what was the point? now they are alone again!

Post this in the Pets section - someone there may be anbe to help you! last thing I wanna hear is they've been put to sleep! I thought the RSCPA 'never put down a healthy animal'? Or is that a Dogs charity?

To be honest im not sure. I have been told by my friend and her boyf that its the RSPCA they cant go in the kennels as they havent had the right jabs or something? And they have tried somewhere else but its overcrowded? I know that Theo hopefully will get somewhere else but im really worried about Rocky.

I was just hoping to find a loving home for him. I didnt even want them in the RSPCA with the other dogs but i know they will have to.

Can i just for 1 say no way am i wanting to put them to sleep. I love these dogs so much i just want them to get a loving home. If you understood the circumstances more instead of jumping in you might understand but please dont jump to conclusions. I have been asked to put this on here. My friend and her boyfriend have spent all day on the phone and have been told that Theo will probably be rehomed but Rocky may well be put to sleep.
If your not going to help please dont reply and do not judge me. I dont need it.
And also just to confirm we got rocky at just a few months old as we went to a garage and saw someone beating him. And im so happy i did get him. Do you really think i dont want him? We have got somewhere to move to in a weeks time but we ARE NOT allowed to take our dogs as were staying with friends. Please dont make me out to be a bad person im not like that and actually hurt by your comments!

P.S is there really a rotty rescue??? The RSPCA really havent been much help to be honest. Last night our landlord wouldnt even let us get our dogs and they had been alone for 14hours and they still wouldnt come out to get them!

Don't let one person put you off. You're trying your best and doing what's best for the animals. I have no doubt you'd take them with you if it was at all possible. I recently had to re-home my cat and it was quite upsetting but I know it was best for the cat and she's happy in her new home.

Good luck!

Try http://www.zepthedep.com/ - they may be able to help, or point you in the right direction to another rescue who can. The lady that runs it is based in Chesterfield, if I remember correctly.

Cheers, Carrie

Thanks everyone i just want whats best for them and had no idea about the rotty rescue. The lad that i lived with my friends boyfriend drives so its not a problem to take them somewhere i just want them to be loved they so cute and i would hate for them to be alone in a dog shelter. Thanks!

He always barks at other dogs. Hes great with Theo im just not sure how he would take to a new home with a dog which already has its grounds? I wouldnt want to say he would be ok then him not be.
I have sent on the links to my friend to look at im really happy there is some solutions out there. I dont want to sound thick but im just not sure how to go about this i have had dogs in my family my whole life and never had to do anything like this and hopefully will never again.

Il ask round for you, i hate to hear things like this about animals. My mum lives on her own in quite a big house well it is just for her, so il see if she is interested in one of them.

As well as the above link - there's The RWA (rottie welfare association) who may be able to help.
http://www.rottweilerwelfare.co.uk/

Alternatively, there is a member on here who's dog I fostered until she could find housing where she was allowed to take him. If you really want to keep them and can spend the time looking for housing, why not ask the welfare associations to foster until you can find somewhere?

There's also a labrador welfare based in Sheffield: http://www.labradorwelfare.org/

Hiya,

Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone on here for there help we was going to send both dogs to the Lab & Rotti rescue centres but it was going to cost us around £130 each money we havent got.

Luckily a friend of ours who lives close by has taken the Theo the Lab so we can still see him. And we have managed to persuade our new Landlord into letting us keep the Rocky the Rotti. Im so glad something has been done. We only thought Rocky was going to get put down because he had a lump in his throat which the vets thought could be cancer and we couldnt afford the vet bills but luckily it was a stick which had become infected under the skin.

Thanks again everyone im so grateful of the help even if some people did think we was not doing our best. We have now done the best for them and were happy!

THANKYOU!!!!

Are u talking to me??? If i think that ur out of order for proffesing your love then ditching them seperatly, i will... Iv only just come back here but am sure i read in my emails that you have not bothered to have them injected so im sure when i come to it i will be commenting on it too..... You cant post on ere about all your wrong doings and expect to have a load of people feel sorry for you.....

Like i said before spirit guide if u havent got any help please dont reply. Yeah im that much of a bad person i have managed to talk my new landlord into letting us keep the Rotty because we simply cant bear to get rid of them. The Lab Theo has gone to a family friend. And what does it matter to you its not your problem and its sorted now. They havent had the injection they need for the kennels no but if your willing to pay for them im more than happy to let you to? Its just that my money has to go on dog food and rent etc. what was the point in all this gargon against me? pathetic. im sure you have better things to do than pick faults with a thread that neither concerns you nor affects you!

No i wanted to pick fault with it as there are way to many people who adopt dogs and cats under the stupid pretence that all in entails is a tin of chappy. I hope that by drawing attention to it and your honesty in how you havent been able to afford them makes people think before they do adopt, there is bound to be some point in the animals lives where they become ill and need a vet, in alot of cases they then need life long medication which is very expensive. I have also noticed how you seem favour the rotty, please be aware that like humans animals can get jelous too and in some nasty cicumstances dogs can turn on kids and grown ups.
