Dove & Rainbow used to be more for the goth scene but its moved recently/changed management and god knows what else so your guess is as good as mine what it is now!!!

there used to be something on at the hallam union, batfink i think it might have been called, which i think was the sort of thing you are looking for. if you ask in rocky horrors on division street i am sure they will know and be happy to help!!
