Not yet but I bet within the next few years you will see something in the news with a similar headline.

Never going to happen.

What makes you say this anyway-a hunch or something u have seen?

It would be bad news for us "Seasoned" drinkers but good for the younger end. They only need a sniff at the barmans apron to want to fight anyone.

What a stange way to start a post.

If they ban wine (12-13%) i will be breaking the law often. :o

think it might be in reaction to the smoking ban.

heard some eejits complaining about the smoking ban and saying drink is as bad if not worse than smoking so that should be banned - except if i choose to drink the person sat on the table next to me doesnt get drunk!

That would mean wine, spirits and some lagers (heinekin for one), alcopops- would all be banned!!

What would be left?

That'd be some weak as p*ss scotch! Can't see it coming to pass myself but you never know what mad schemes the present junta will try and foist on us.

I would happily break that law also and I would most likely move abroad to a country whose Government doesn't constantly insist on 'holding my hand'.

They should turn all the old phone boxes into smoking booths. They could even have fag dispensers inside, or you pay a quid to get in it and it gives you a fag.

yes sometimes and its not nice, but think about when a drunk has actually affected your night out, and how often you wake up caked in smoke

rarely compared to everytime you go out.

this is a no win argument - perfect for the forum!

Maybe not the alchohol, but the advertising. Like in US where it is forbidden to advertise drinks over 3.5% on TV. So that's what most of the beer is - 3.5%. Even though the UK equivalent (say budweiser, an American beer - 5% here) is stronger!

MP's seem to drink a lot of spirits. I cannot see the ban ever happening.

Its not about the alcohol its about ht people who drink it.

years ago no one could have foreseen a ban on smoking, which is now imminent!

however, look on the bright side - no smoking, no alcohol, ban on fatty foods, cars off the road - you might live to be 100 - all you need to do is find something enjoyable to occupy your long life.

the solution is simple - just drink more
