View Full Version : Is there a stomach bug going around?
Sketty24 10-02-2009, 17:19 Last week, my dad randomly threw up, and today, I did the same, only minutes after I'd eaten my dinner. My tutor was also off uni today with some kind of bug. I can't even remember the last time I was sick, it was that long ago, so it's an odd occurrence. Is there something going around? I feel fine now, I'm just worried it'll happen again next time I eat. :help:
stella_fan26 10-02-2009, 17:30 Yes there is alot going round at the moment, a few weeks ago the hospitals was closed to visitors due to it, and at my kids school they are dropping like flies again, so think it's doing the rounds again here
Sketty24 10-02-2009, 17:33 Do you know if it's a one-off? My dad was only sick once, and I'm hoping it'll be the same for me.
I'm not throwing up but had shocking indigestion for about a week, keeps you awake at night and you feel bloated all the time. Tried all the normal remedies, nothing will touch it. Tried the GP useless, didn't suggest owt. How long does it last for?
I don't know about any stomach bug going around
but there is a nasty bug going around;)
Last week, I was watching a show on TV about invading space aliens - it was pretty creepy. Then, the doorbell rang so I went to answer it. Standing there was a 6 foot tall mosquito! He grabbed me by the neck, threw me across the room, and then left.
The next night, I was playing a video game and the doorbell rang. I answered it and that same six-foot mosquito was there. He punched me in the stomache and then thumped me on the head and left.
The third night, the doorbell rang. I slowly opened the door and that mosquito pushed the door open, hit me in both eyes, kicked me in the shin, and body slammed me to the ground then left.
The next day, I went to see my doctor and explained everything that had happened. I asked him what I should do.
The doctor replied, "Not much you can do. There's just a nasty bug going around."
stella_fan26 10-02-2009, 17:43 unfortunatly It has been doing the rounds for a while & everyone I know has had it at some point, Think you are at more risk if you are in close contact with children as they pick it up from school etc
spirit guide 10-02-2009, 17:45 Yes my kids are all off with it at the mo, i was sick once other day and then nothing more, then daughter starts throwing up on sat, then just left with th elder two getting over it now....
Sketty24 10-02-2009, 18:03 At least I know I'm not alone. Thanks everyone.

Me too. Up all night Sunday night with terrible stomach cramps. Thought I had food poisoning or something. By the morning I was absolutely fine again. Very strange.

Steptoad 11-02-2009, 14:59 Daft question, there's always a stomach bug going around.
foxforcefive 11-02-2009, 20:34 I've felt a bit queasy all day, it feels like i'm nervous, like I've got butterflies or something, been off my food, but haven't felt, or been sick.
honeyb35 12-02-2009, 08:38 My daughter has had it for a couple of days...lots of nice nappies....and I've woke up feeling really nauseous :(
My dad was taken in to hospital 6 days ago with severe vomiting and diarrhea.
He had a quadruple bypass couple of years ago,so he was vunerable to complications.
However,he seems to be one the mend. The doctors did say he had caught some type of bug.
Shelectric 12-02-2009, 09:37 that'll explain my stomach cramps, I also thought I'd eaten something bad. It's not so bad that i cant work though.... damn

archaeobard 12-02-2009, 10:52 For the last few days I've been feeling ill and being sick after eating more than a small meal. I've had bad indigestion too and a bit of the runs. I thought it was to do with side affects of the medication I am on for my arthritis (Methatrexate) that I take every Tuesday, but if there is something going about then I feel a little better about the being sick since it means my body is handling my drugs ok.
It has hit all of us, started with our 2 year old, then our 13 year old had it the day after, my wife got it the day after that, and I had it yesterday.
Turns out our sister in law and her friend have it too.
Epidemic.
Thankfully it don't last that long.
Someone who works in Morrisons at Hillsborough has clearly had it because I've now got it after eating some cooked meat off their bloody deli
Almost 48 hours ago, enough vomit to fill the sink twice, severe dehydration and fever. :gag:
Just started eating again and I'm farting enough to cause an earthquake.
And now everyone else is getting it, it's like bloody plague. Why can't people stay OFF work if they have had gastro-enteritis!!
