Hi guys,

Basically I'm currently studying at Sheffield Hallam Uni and play for the cricket team there, and we recently decided to organise some kit. After paying for the stuff, the guy got robbed before he got chance to bank it and we all lost our £85 - nearly £2,500 in total.

We then came up with the idea to fundraise the money back ourselves, through a host of different activities and sponsorship - one idea has been a raffle. Basically we 'buy' £100's worth of tickets for £70, this money pays for our kit and whatever we raise over the £70 goes to minimizing our original losses.

There is no profit to be gained through this venture, only regaining what is a significant outlay for a student and so I would really like to request your help. Would anyone be willing to have a go at the raffle, PayPal/cheque the money and I'll hold the tickets for you and let you know if you've won? I can provide emailed scans of the tickets with your name on, a list of winners when the raffle has finised - basically everything I can do to assure members and Nick that this is not a scam, just a group of students trying to regain their losses caused by unscrupulous people.

4 x Signed Vaughan posters,
Signed pic of David Beckham,
Signed Yorkshire CCC Shirt,
Signed Sheffield Wednesday shirt

Basketball signed by Newcastle Eagles

and loads of crates of beer and bottles of wine etc.

Tickets are £1 each by the way, to be drawn on 15th March during the Twenty20 between West Indies and England.

sorry about my little joke swervin. anybody with a sense of humour could see it was a joke. for anybody who was shocked about what i said the charley swervin is taking to the match is his grandaughter and not the marching stuff.

in fact swervin is a bit of a girl on match days and the strongest thing he touches is lime and soda in the crown as he drives me about.
