View Full Version : The best Current Sheffield Football player (poll) CorkerSWFC 10-02-2009, 13:17 Who's the best in your eye's mines gotta be Marcus Tudgay. Lestat 10-02-2009, 13:21 I'd agree with you there, although Jermaine Johnson can give any team a run for their money when he plays well. Grant too. Top class goalie. bladebloke 10-02-2009, 13:23 kyle naughton is proberbly worth the most money proberbly more than the whole wendy team. but for me this season alone its got to be killa. CorkerSWFC 10-02-2009, 13:26 Please vote it will be good to see who come's out on top scottf 10-02-2009, 13:28 Even though he had a shocker on saturday it would be kilgallon for me- the lad is still learning but he is still a different class of centre back to most in the championship. al_partridge 10-02-2009, 13:49 I voted for Grant as he's been outstanding all season, wouldn't swap him for any other keeper outside the Premiership. An honourable mention though to Michael Gray, he's been a class act since he came. pitsmoorlad 10-02-2009, 13:57 I've gone for Grant. Laws has learned from Cloughie, whose idea of a good team was get a reliable goalie, centre half, and striker, then build the team around them. MR BENN 10-02-2009, 14:07 it has to be Lee Grant ,been superb all season . just hoping noone cpmes in for him in the summer NEKRO138 10-02-2009, 14:36 I voted for Grant too. A good keeper is so important. And that's exactly what he is. Robbie Loving 10-02-2009, 15:00 As you enabled us to pick more than one person, I chose Naughton and Killa. I rate Naughton as the most potential and worth the most. And Killa as the best player as it stands. Obviously I wasn't going to pick a Owls player, just as an Owl wouldn't pick a Blade. But I do believe overall, our players are better than yours, and we have the most potential there. Call me bias, I won't disagree. But I do believe it. sheff71 10-02-2009, 20:55 Rigged poll... why no Monty :) CorkerSWFC 11-02-2009, 00:15 Rigged poll... why no Monty :) Well i didnt put a few in for us and it was only last week i heard that Monty was rubbish 1 minded and getting shipped out on loan, maybe i should have put Richard Hinds on for us then or what about Wade Small, anyhow the biggest you can do a poll is 25 options ;) Billy B 11-02-2009, 08:37 Pointless poll, Blades will vote for Blades Owls for Owls, result will depend on how many Blades or Owls vote might as well have a whos the best postman in Sheffield at the present moment mine is because he delivers my mail every day Billy B CorkerSWFC 11-02-2009, 09:22 Pointless poll, Blades will vote for Blades Owls for Owls, result will depend on how many Blades or Owls vote might as well have a whos the best postman in Sheffield at the present moment mine is because he delivers my mail every day Billy B But now we will find out who is the best from both sides  If id have done it for just one side then we wouldn't have found out both :) crookesey 11-02-2009, 12:31 As you enabled us to pick more than one person, I chose Naughton and Killa. That's the difference between the two sets of fans, when Tony Currie was strutting his stuff for SUFC we admitted that he was the best player in Sheffield. However when Chris Waddle was tearing Premiership defences apart whilst wearing a Wednesday shirt many blunts considered him to be a waste of money. Infact a blunt recently told me that Waddle was washed up when he came to us, was constantly injured and never had a good game for us. When I mentioned that he won the Sport writers Player Of The Year award whilst playing for us he laughed and said "don't talk bluddy rubbish". Blunts, you couldn't make it up. :loopy: malagablade 11-02-2009, 13:20 Who's the best in your eye's mines gotta be Marcus Tudgay. very popular with the boys in blue!!!they´re always watching his moves!!! Robbie Loving 11-02-2009, 15:12 That's the difference between the two sets of fans, when Tony Currie was strutting his stuff for SUFC we admitted that he was the best player in Sheffield. Blunts, you couldn't make it up. :loopy: You're doing it again, tarring all Blades as the same. The Owls have just as many stupid fans as the Blades do. As for who I believe to be the best player out of the teams, I honestly do believe it is Killa. But the fact is, neither of us see enough of the other on a regular basis to compare. If I thought an Owls player was better than what we had at United then I'd admit it. SteveBlade 11-02-2009, 16:00 Voted for Naughton, been outstanding this season and hasnt had one bad game.. After that has to be Killa then Tudgay. Havnt seen anything of Grant but from what ive been hearing hes good. Thingything 11-02-2009, 16:43 Gone against the grain and plumped for Beevers over Grant even though Grant has been brilliant for us this season For Blades i would plump for obvious Naughton even though i haven't seen that much of him MICK-SWFC 12-02-2009, 21:01 I've gone with Simek, Grant, Tudgay, Gray and Naughton. Reason for my choices are Simek is one of my favourites, never has a bad game but not really played this season due to injury. Grant and Tudgay have been brilliant this season. Gray hasn't put a foot wrong since he joined Wednesday. I also chose (may come as a suprise me been an owls fan) Noughton. Thought he was by far the best player for United that came to hillsborough this season and thought he did very well last Saturday. bladebloke 12-02-2009, 22:02 I've gone with Simek, Grant, Tudgay, Gray and Naughton. Earwiggo 12-02-2009, 22:19 As Robbie says, nobody can compare as they don't see the other team often enough. CorkerSWFC 12-02-2009, 23:11 Every1 can vote multiple its if you read it at first weather you do lol NERVY-OWL 12-02-2009, 23:32 Every1 can vote multiple its if you read it at first weather you do lol i didnt read that part, would of put grant aswell as tudgay CorkerSWFC 13-02-2009, 00:19 i didnt read that part, would of put grant aswell as tudgay Im sure loads have m8 don't worry bout it give it a week and it will weigh out whos the fav player from both side's. Billy B 13-02-2009, 10:13 I think I have proved my case having looked at the results up to now only one fan has voted for another player in the oppositions team, waste of space, might have just as well said who is the best player you have. What amazes me is how Marcus Tudgay has suddenly become so popular (wonder why), only the other week he was being slagged off by every other Wednesday fan. How can you say he is a better player than our Kyle is beyond me, he is a young up and comiing player who has been selected to play for his country, and is improving with every game, Billy B CorkerSWFC 13-02-2009, 10:31 I think I have proved my case having looked at the results up to now only one fan has voted for another player in the oppositions team, waste of space, might have just as well said who is the best player you have. No point in keep bigging up Naughton if he's that good cause he won't be there much longer if United's recent track record is owt to go on.:hihi: Earwiggo 13-02-2009, 12:10 I think I have proved my case having looked at the results up to now only one fan has voted for another player in the oppositions team, waste of space, might have just as well said who is the best player you have. They weren't and neither were Wednesday fans slagging Tudgay. Behave thissen, and stop making false claims just to protect Naughton. He's a good player and doesn't need your protection. There's a good lad! bladebloke 13-02-2009, 13:16 Kyle Naughton still has stacks to learn, Marcus Tudgay is in his prime at 26 and is more than a dangerous striker in the Championship. No point in keep bigging up Naughton if he's that good cause he won't be there much longer if United's recent track record is owt to go on.:hihi: so lets say hyperthetically. naughton and tudgay both become available for transfer. who do you think the premiership clubs would show more interest in. bladebloke 13-02-2009, 13:29 and neither were Wednesday fans slagging Tudgay. but how do you know this? swervin 13-02-2009, 13:57 i think this is childish (grumppy old man) MNS MIKE 13-02-2009, 14:36 Naughton is quality, cant take that away from him!! As for who a prem club would rather buy in Naughton and Tudgay - course its Naughton, he's young and im sure Arsenal would love him in their Nappy Brigade only to be let out and play in Cup Games! Not takng anything from Tuggy though - he gives his all and has done from day one! Still... player of Season so far has to be Grant! Thingything 13-02-2009, 14:44 Funny how Wednesday have all the best player yet we are still above them  ............ funny how weve beaten ya twice this season kid innit CorkerSWFC 13-02-2009, 16:03 so lets say hyperthetically. naughton and tudgay both become available for transfer. who do you think the premiership clubs would show more interest in. Marcus Tudgay on current form. 0742Sheff 13-02-2009, 23:21 it has to be Lee Grant ,been superb all season . just hoping noone cpmes in for him in the summer Better add Tudguy to that as well. I know he has a long time left on his contract but does a contract really mean anything these days? BladeSteve 14-02-2009, 04:23 I voted for the consistent Matthew Kilgallon. I'm surprised that Greg Halford isn't in the list, he is fast becoming a useful player for the Blades. CorkerSWFC 14-02-2009, 08:08 I voted for the consistent Matthew Kilgallon. I'm surprised that Greg Halford isn't in the list, he is fast becoming a useful player for the Blades. Yeah good point although ive missed some out for both like Esajas and Oconner for Wednesday, i don't like the other option so many apoligies lol. sheff71 14-02-2009, 14:43 Might've got more interesting results if it were just for United fans to vote on Owls players, and Owls fans on United players - see who gets most respect from the opposition? To say how important he's supposed to be to Wednesday, it's interesting to see Sodje is voteless! No surprise with the football played by both sides this season, that Owls current favourite is the goalie Grant, and Blades leaders are the two most consistent defenders, Kyle & Killa.... obviously Tudgay is up in the ratings based on last week (I doubt he'd have been as popular a fortnight ago anyway!). :) swfc72 14-02-2009, 14:55 grant best keeper outside premier league Robbie Loving 16-02-2009, 12:12 grant best keeper outside premier league That title doesn't belond to either keeper in Sheffield. AltyOwl 16-02-2009, 12:27 Is Killagallon really that good? Each time I've seen him he's looked awful Naughton has impressed me though. Robbie Loving 16-02-2009, 12:30 Is Killagallon really that good? Each time I've seen him he's looked awful I'd put Killa in the top 4 centre defenders outside the Premier League. He's a very good player, likes to pass the ball rather than just boot it, is not afraid to go forward, good in the air, got very good timing in his tackling. However you wouldn't have caught me saying any of that 2 years ago, he has defiinitely proved me wrong, and how glad I am that he has. leviathan13 16-02-2009, 12:38 I've gone for Morgs, mainly because he's hard as nails, never gives less than 100% (even if he's not having a great game, he's still solid and doesn't let it affect him), his timing is almost perfect nearly every time when going for headers, never EVER pulls out of a tackle and, the reason for him being captain, he is an awesome leader! He personifies EVERYTHING about Sheffield football - grit, determination, passion and, something that has been lost a bit over the years for one reason or another, he plays football like it's a "man's game". If he goes down it's because he IS injured. Can't ever remember him rolling around on the floor after a challenge. If he stays down then it's because it is bad, not because he's trying to fool everyone. NEKRO138 16-02-2009, 12:39 That title doesn't belond to either keeper in Sheffield. Who would you say is best out of Prem Robbie? Hennessy? Bywater? Robbie Loving 16-02-2009, 12:51 Who would you say is best out of Prem Robbie? Hennessy? Bywater? Good question... I'd say Hahnemann of Reading is the best outside the prem But others would be contenders. Hennessey Maik Taylor Lee Camp CorkerSWFC 16-02-2009, 16:56 Good question... I'd say Hahnemann of Reading is the best outside the prem But others would be contenders. Hennessey Maik Taylor Lee Camp To be fair Hahnemann is a top keeper, id say it was between Grant and him who would be the best outside of the prem, Miak Taylor is always prone to a howler, havent seen too much of Camp to be honest. Robbie Loving 16-02-2009, 17:45 To be fair Hahnemann is a top keeper, id say it was between Grant and him who would be the best outside of the prem, Miak Taylor is always prone to a howler, havent seen too much of Camp to be honest. Aye, but Grant also has moments too doesn't he. Earwiggo 16-02-2009, 18:27 but how do you know this? I've got as much idea as Billy B, who's claim it is. It's rhubarb, he knows it, and you know it. I know it an'all.! AltyOwl 16-02-2009, 19:38 Aye, but Grant also has moments too doesn't he. He's probably the best shot stopper in the league. Some of his save have been bloody amazing. His only weakness (though he's improving) is he struggles on crosses - he either waits on his goal line or struggles to catch it i.e Lupoli's goal in the derby Robbie Loving 16-02-2009, 19:40 Sounds like Paddy Kenny  CorkerSWFC 16-02-2009, 20:25 Lee Grant reminds me of Chris Wood's, he could pull almost unthinkable save's off but stuggled so bad at crosses it was untrue. |
