Best thing is to try and remove them one at a time and replace with either wooden eggs that you can get from pet shops or pebbles of the same size. Hope that helps! terminator 09-02-2009, 22:04 Is this just a hen on her own no male involved and kept as a pet theres no harm leaving her on them for a while by the way either way jesicca? 09-02-2009, 22:07 yea i oly have the one female, how long do i leave her on them though she has been on them nearly 2 weeks. will she eventually just leave them and then i remove them help terminator 09-02-2009, 22:15 oh right 2 weeks then id suggest as stalborg suggested remove one now but then every 2 days dont introduce any dummy eggs at this time that should be time enough if she,s already been sat 2 week on infertilie eggs terminator 09-02-2009, 22:19 If she dos this again i would post on here seeing as she,s a good sitter you never know when some one could be in need of a sitter.Things do go wrong when ppl get too many eggs/the hen wont sit or hen may have died ect sheff290 09-02-2009, 23:42 dont take them away she will laymore like you said and that can be dangerous for a bird to keep laying she will get fed up eventually then remove them , dont put nesting boxes in to encourage her if you do i have afrisky amazon that wants to mate with my grey at the moment its not going to happen haha |
