The next meeting of Sheffield Allotment Federation is on Monday 16th Feb 2009 at 7.15pm in the Quaker Meeting House (next to the Blue Moon Cafe behind the Cathedral).
The meeting is open to anyone and it would be great to see some individuals from sites that aren't usually represented at these gatherings. The meeting allows allotment holders/societies a voice at Council meetings and provides a forum for discussion of important issues. It's also a good way of finding out what is going on in Sheffield with regard to allotments
That's a coincidence, earlier on today I googled the federation to try and find out when the next meet was. My name is Matt Rhodes and I am the Chair of the Hagg House AA and I have been meaning to come along for a while now.
See you next Monday.

Hi there Matt,
Another coincidence is that I registered a Wiki today for the Fed so that people could find out what it is and when it is. I'll be working on it over the next week or so and am hoping to have it ready for the next meeting (If they have WiFi and an LCD projector). Otherwise I'll just send a link so that people can see what they think of the first version.
Yes, see you next Monday.

Sorry to disappoint you both, but the Federation secretary has just rung me to say that the meeting is off, since our public liability insurance has not come through yet.

I got a letter today from the Federation (dated 5 Feb) to say there would not be a meeting this month, for that reason.
I told you Matt, I tell you the interesting stuff :hihi:
well, when a new date is announced I should be able to come along as I've not a commitment on a Monday anymore (ooo another coincidence) :) :D

Isn't it great that insurance runs (ruins?) our lives.
Great to hear you'll be coming to some Fed meetings MC; they are usually on the third Monday of the month.
The next meeting of the Federation has been arranged for Monday 13th February, 2012, at 7.00 p.m., in the Quaker Meeting House, St. James Street.
I am worried about proposed increases in charges for allotments in Sheffield
Does anyone know anything about this?

See the document at http://www.wix.com/mc55mcd/duckdinnerdash, and the blog post at http://plotlines.co.uk/2012/02/sheffield-allotment-rent-increases-illegal/.
Then go and talk to your local councillors.
