someone i know, a male, told me they had been sat down as normal, then some time later got up, and noticed they had wet themselves...never happened before.
could it be the meds, he was given a new one, gabapentin
has anyone seen anything like this before?
ta
I had some pretty strange side effects from gabapentin (severe enough for me to not make it through the first week with it) but nothing like that/
The only place to go to check this out is the doctor's surgery I'm afraid.
EDIT- this is not listed on the data sheet of known side effects of gabapentin, so your friend needs to see someone medical.

Have a look here, it doesn’t mention it as a side effect. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabapentin

as a very big suggestion, dont use wikipedia to make a diagnosis. Go and see the doctor.

i know, but it was interesting.
i dont go and see a doc about side affects of meds...for example this happened to me in 2000 i was given a diff med, for my spinal injury and back ache etc, and not long after i had 2 siezures, but minutes after driving, my doc didnt know anything, they said i had epilepsy and gave me tegrotol retard/carbomanzine?? etc but i didnt take them, i just stopped the diff med i was given...i never had a siezure again and got my license back after a year..
i asked a couple of chemists and online and there was lots of info, NOT to be given if the person also had one of the drugs i normally take..causes brain waves to drop, many countries and documented.
my doc didnt know, none i knew did but chemists etc did...
docs have to do a wide varierty of stuff, and dont know everything but was shocked that my chemist who knew not to mix them, did the prescription

I know its a bit hit and miss. My optician told me the meds I was on was affecting my eyes and could possibly damage my eyesight. I went to the GP who made light of it but I told him to look up his drug guide as I had found it could cause blindness. He pulled out his book reluctantly and found both the Optician and I were right and we stopped the meds. That optician saved my eyesight.

Nobody is recommending that wikipedia is used as a diagnostic tool. That article in wikipedia does give lots of good information, and it's very well referenced.
