the plain truth is that wednesday are doing a little better than expected. we have a new chairman and hopefully new investment soon. brian laws is building a capable team, which has improved with recent signings. we're on the up! united have failed to reach the great heights their fans have been spouting about, apart from the premiership moment, which turned out a little embarrassing. i remember a few years ago one slug predicting european football at camel lane. united fans must now realise that they have had their fifteen minutes of fame. they were the better team in sheffield for a while but things are gradually geting back to how they should be. ie the owls on top. the slug's premiership money is dwindling away and they will soon be back to championship also rans. isnt life wondeful :)

We'll see what Laws is really like when the expectation and pressure is on him properly from next season, and he doesn't get such an easy ride from the fans... if he can do all of this with no money, then you must surely be favourites for automatic promotion next season when the new PR guy Strafford delivers this pot of gold...

There are enough people around who remember what Wendy fans were like when they had all of the money before, and how you turned on managers on a regular basis... there were enough of you wanting Laws out after losing the first six games last season, after all...

And as for United fan(s) thinking Europe was possible, well presumably you treat that with the contempt it deserves, there's as much chance of Donny doing it! the slugs attendances will fall away after a few more seasons in the championship. wednesdays are poor now by comparison to bygone eras, but the fans will come back. i remember newcastle when they were in the old third division getting 10,000. we've had a long run of iffy directors and chairmen. it all started when we actually had money and high attendances. we thought we were man utd or liverpool. we arent and never will be. we can be a villa or a spurs though. thats the best both sheffield clubs can hope for.
