Hi,

I'm looking for a photograph album to fill with photographs to give as a present for a special occasion. I'm aware of the bookbinders' on Division Street and in Orchard Place (or square?) but their lowest prices are in the region of £80 for made to order albums which is waaay above my budget (which is £40 absolute max, would prefer the region of £20, and I don't want it made to order). Does anyone know of anywhere else in central Sheffield that sells hand made photograph albums?

There was a bookbinder called Heather Dewick and she had a shop on Sharrowvale Road. she moved premises last year and sorry I don't know where to - so help other forummers please.

She made a photograph album for a special occasion and it was about £30. It was beautiful. She spent alot of time making it and it was quality. Have had one done at Orchard Square this year and it only cost me £40 ???

Make sure it's made with accid free paper.

Not sure if you'll find anything handmade, but you if you are in town you could have a look in John Lewis, they usually have a selction of really nice albums.

A friend of mine buys cheap albums from the dollar store, re-covers them in different fabrics ect ect, sells them at craft shows, or gives them as gifts, made herself quite a nice side job doing this.

Thanks guys thats really helpful. I'll try the bookbinders in town and see how much they will charge me, and it had never occurred to me to look in John Lewis so I'll try there as well. Didn't fancy a WHSmiths job!.

I would do one myself but as its a present for my mum and she also makes them for craft shows and things she'll spot my bodged handy work a mile off!

ive just bought a handmade wedding album off ebay, they are very nice and made to order, it was around £30 for the one i chose.
