Is it legal to sell the lease? I thought you had to return it to the council's stock. Perhaps one of the allotment group can clarify this for us.

as for the legality im signing over the lease ? and the sale is for the items upon the plot shed greenhouse frame / tools ect ect theres been a lot of work and time put in so I feel to sign over to some one fully equiped and ready to go is good thing may save them money and give me a little back ....

MOD: Nothing to do with being a busy body just concerned that the forum doesn't carry any illegal offers. Can you clarify that it is legal to sign over leases for allotments? If not, then we will have to remove this thread.

In fact, it would appear that it is not legal to sell your lease.

But if you decide to terminate your tenancy, please write to the Allotment Section as soon as you have made your decision. There might be a waiting list for an allotment on the site or a transfer of the tenancy could be arranged to someone you know who would like to take it.
