Does anyone out there in Sheffield land know of any pick your own fruit farms that are open this year and possibly if any have opened yet ? we used to go to Totley fruit farm but I understand that has closed this year. Thanks.

Was just thinkin about this very subject earlier as the train passed over the Ecclesfield/Chapeltown strawberry fields.

Gotta love PYO! 1 for the basket - 1 for me! :hihi: :heyhey:

True I'm afraid. We did too. I believe Whirlow Hall Farm does a PYO but I don't think it has the variety of fruit Totley had. No more tayberry jam.........sniff.....

Im pretty sure that theres a pick ur own up at Mosborough i know there was a strawberry field not sure bout other fruit though.Remember taking my son few years ago,he loved it.Hope its still there for you,not too far from Rother Valley too if your in a car.You could go pick your strawbs then off to the Rother for a picnic.make a day of it.Bliss.

Hasn't been one there for a couple of years now.

But Norton Fruit have PYO fields on the road to Whitwell near Van Dyks nursery.

Yep, Whirlow Hall Farm definately does pick your own, will probably be heading back there this summer.

Be careful about going there, they buy some of the stuff they sell from wholesalers and pass it off as home grown :o

OOOh I'm going to try out the dronnie woodhouse one this weekend I reckon.. raspberries feeeze quite well so I can have raspberries and ice cream for months!

Next summer I'll have the garden dug over for rasberry and loganberry bushes I think!
