Just wondering what the legal stance is on going for interviews while still employed for another company.

Can you go as and when you want, if a boss says 'well you can't go because we are busy' do they have a leg to stand on? what if you have an interview every week....do you just have to work back your hours or take it as unpaid leave?

ta :)

shouldnt be a problem for me..but just checking as i'm not far from finishing a fixed term contract and i'm starting to get a few interviews lined up

You take it as holiday or unpaid leave.

You can "legally" only take it as a holiday at you rrequest. You can take unpaid leave IF your employer recognises this.

if your coming upto the end of your contract or facing redundancy they legally have to allow you time off to attend interviews however, they can request that you make the time back, but you dont have to in that case.
