have been told by hubby trams are still running and they have even said they will fit snowploughs to the fronts if need be.

My hubby caught the tram at 4 pm from the Cathedral and he's still not home to halfway - mostly due to cars getting stuck in front of the tram - hopefully by 11 most car drivers will be at home.

oh no bless him, he must be going mad. nearly 3 hours on a tram, but atleast he is on his way home.
hopefully by the time my hubby is coming home at 8:15 the roads should have cleared,

The sad bit is he got on the herdings park tram after waiting 30 minutes at the cathedral and no halfway trams appearing, he then had to get off at gleadless town end and no halfway trams insight again.... he seemingly has now has gotten a lift from someone so hopefully will be home soon. Maybe next time he will listen to his wife - I told him to come at 3 pm!!!

That's one redeeming feature of the tram.

the trams are running but when they hit the road they will come to a grinding holt due to cars struggling

In the end thanx to the lift of a stranger, it took hubbie 3 1/4 hrs to get home (from Cathedral to Halfway) have spotted 2 trams since then so perhaps the roads have cleared.

my son is now in town waiting for a tram home to gleadless

Still a bit of a wait but at least he managed to get a tram!

I had a walk down to Hillsborough yesterday evening and the trams were about the only thing on the road, I saw four in about ten minutes.

There were cars getting stuck all the way up Park Grange Road that held the tram up coming out to Halfway. It took about 2 hrs for my hubby's tram to get from Park Grange Road to Manor Top!!

sorry if its already posted. just heard that the tram points at malin bridge have frozen so no trams going there. if other points also freeze all trams will stop.

Yes, noticed that the trams for Halfway this morning are only running to the city centre..... so that's probably why if Malin Bridge is frozen! (I am being selfish but hope more freeze up so my hubby can stay home from work!!)
