I have just been getting quotes for my insurance and because I work part time as opposed to full time the quote with the AA is £185 dearer. Also because I work in different locations I have to put business use as opposed to the sdp which covers you to a regular place of work.

Don't insure with them - find someone else. Simple really!

Tesco included business use for the same price for my insurance.

Incidently - its not a rip off, its the insurerer calculating a [remium based on calculated risk. Some insurerers are better for some types of risk. You just have to find the one that fits your situation best. Its why some insurers quote thousands for young drivers, or powerful cars. Rather than refuse the quote they quote themselves out fo the market because its not the market they want to be in.

I hate insurance companies.
Churchill package business insurance in with their policies and they're usually cheaper than tesco.

Depends on your situation - Churchill were always cheaper with several of my cars. I changed car and Tesco were miles better... why it pays to shop around!

I have to shop around every year. Because I'm a scum teenager my quotes have varied from £2,300k to £12,800 on small engined cars. They've got me by the plums though as I can't do my job without a car. Doesn't help the local economy as I would have a £2300 disposable income as aposed to 0.

wow! that's loads, but I guess if you are doing alot of miles and business use then that would push the risk up.

So glad I was never a teenage boy ;o)

The £12k quotes are the ones I was talking about before. They are basically saying they don't want your business!

Their all a rip off...it's just a matter of degree.

I did an online quote thing with Churchill...twice! The only difference between the 1st and 2nd application details they asked was the name i gave.

1st qoute............£267.00

2nd quote...........£544.00

The time between both these quotes was 14 mins. They musn't of liked the ficticious name the 2nd time around.
