Basically I am sick to the back teeth with Sky and their customer service and the monthly payment has increased which has sealed the deal and I wish to change. We only watch kids, sports,ITV2, BBC3, E4 etc we dont watch the movies so someone has recommended a free sat box. However I understand that we wont get sports. Its not a deal breaker but hubby would miss sports but hey ho what can we do.

Has anyone got Virgin Media, free sat and what are they like and is there anyway to get sports channels elsewhere?

many thanks folks

You can get sports on freeview - Setanta, don't know the cost though, but they have a website.

Maybe freesat's the way to go.

We have had SKY in the past and their customer service was terrible. We now have Virgin media for phone TV and internet and were very pleased with it. Sometimes customer service is rubbish if you get put through to India or wherever it is they route calls to sometimes - but you can't seem to avoid that these days can you?

I like virgin TV because whatever package you're on you have free catch up on demand - it's basically free BBC i Player - so if you miss something thats been on BBC or channel 4 (and a few other channels) you can watch it later.

We'd have kept freeview but seeing as we get no signal in our area we had to get Virgin - anyway seems to work well!

You can save a bit of money with Sky if you take their broadband and phone package too.

Just a thought.

You need to check availability - we can't get virgin. So it's either sky or freeview.
