View Full Version : Dog found in Parsons Cross Sheffield last night Abby23 01-02-2009, 10:05 Has any1 lost a staffordshire bull terrior in the Parsons Cross area. This was found last night on Doe Royd Lane. mc55 01-02-2009, 10:56 Abby, you might want to post in the pets section too. A vet will be able to scan him to see if he is chipped ... if he is, should be relatively easy to reunite owner and pet :) phawley 01-02-2009, 10:56 Are you sure it was lost and not just let out for a P? ;) Beetroot 01-02-2009, 12:36 What colour is it? Male or female? bladelass22 01-02-2009, 13:01 is it black with one white paw? Beetroot 01-02-2009, 13:03 Is it Female? andipep 01-02-2009, 14:39 Its allways around the Doe Royd Lane area,i think it belongs to someone on Buchanan rd,.The lad hangs around on shops at wordsworth drive. They allways manage to hook back up. Strix 01-02-2009, 20:27 oh yeah - btw - it's illegal to release a dog you've caught mummysaz21 01-02-2009, 20:30 this dogs been running round for years, im not saying i agree with it, but what i am saying is if u do keep the dog for a bit before u get dog warden do not walk it becouse a lot of ppl know this dog it followed me and my girls and i nealy got attacked from sum1 who said i had nicked him just b careful mummysaz21 01-02-2009, 20:36 and also again im not saying i disagree with any of u as my girls will never go out on there own its wrong, but why make a dog sleep in a cold pound when his home is 2second down rd yes maybe we dont agree with it but this is all this dog knows and his family and they do treat him nice its just the getting out thats the prob so please just think wats best for dog i understand what ur saying bout an accident but if sumt does hapen to him then thats the owners fault and may be teach em a lesson but after years of walking about he hasent got hurt yet and he knows where he lives if anything i will take the dog myself and take him bk to his owners jrowl 01-02-2009, 22:44 If it goes to the compound and the owner cant afford the release fee it will eventually be put down mummysaz21 02-02-2009, 05:27 exacley and he realy is a good good dog, yes he does deserve beter but at least hes not bein neglected Abby23 02-02-2009, 07:41 The dog was about 1 yr old and a male. It followed my dad home and appeared 2 b unwell he phoned the dog warden who advised us 2 take it to RSPCA. We have taken the dog there where it is been treated 4 its illness. tara 02-02-2009, 10:04 Its allways around the Doe Royd Lane area,i think it belongs to someone on Buchanan rd,.The lad hangs around on shops at wordsworth drive. They allways manage to hook back up. What do you mean hook back up. Do you mean tether. geerarffe 02-02-2009, 12:06 So because the dog has been doing it for years it's acceptable for it to carry on doing so? :loopy: The dog will not certainly be but down. This only happens in extreme cases. Please don't dramatize. The dog would be much better taken somewhere like the pound with the chance of being taken out by a rescue and put in a more suitable home. They can't love it that much if it's left to roam the streets. baby tiger67 02-02-2009, 12:13 these dogs are so expensive to buy, i know ive got one, and theres no way on this earth i would let him go out on his own, a dog is for life not just for xmas and birthdays.............. Abby23 02-02-2009, 12:16 I no someone thats works at RSPCA and she as assured me that the dog will be treated and looked after well until its owers come for it or it is rehomed. I can assure you that we have done the best thing by taking it to RSPCA as the dog was unwell and needed treatment. Moonbird 02-02-2009, 12:21 Just to clarify is the dog at the RSPCA or in the dog pound? RSPCA is at Attercliffe and the dog pound is at Spring st in the city centre. Abby23 02-02-2009, 12:25 Is it your dog? Moonbird 02-02-2009, 12:27 Is it your dog? Nope not my dog, my lot are sat by the fire as we speak, I don't allow dogs to roam! Abby23 02-02-2009, 12:31 Like i said in my previous post it was RSPCA Moonbird 02-02-2009, 12:34 Like i said in my previous post it was RSPCA Ok I just wondered as they do not normally take stray dogs, glad he went there rather than the pound. Only asked because lots of people mix them up with the pound being in the building that the RSPCA used to use at Spring st. tara 02-02-2009, 13:22 Do owners have to pay a fee to RSPCA to get their dog back the same as the pound. Moonbird 02-02-2009, 13:39 Do owners have to pay a fee to RSPCA to get their dog back the same as the pound. Yes you do have to pay a fee to get a dog from the RSPCA but I have never heard of them taking srays so not sure how that would work. tara 02-02-2009, 13:56 Perhaps they might treat it for its illness and then take it to the pound. Highly unlikely but as the op says the dog is with RSPCA then i cant think of any other outcome as they dont keep stray dogs. Moonbird 02-02-2009, 14:56 Perhaps they might treat it for its illness and then take it to the pound. Highly unlikely but as the op says the dog is with RSPCA then i cant think of any other outcome as they dont keep stray dogs. No they don't normally keep them. At least where ever he is he is safe, warm getting treatment and out of the snow, I always feel so sorry for animals straying in wintertime, it only takes a little effort to keep them inside and safe...hey dear! :( andipep 02-02-2009, 15:50 What do you mean hook back up. Do you mean tether. No i mean the lad and the dog allways get back together after the dog has had a roam around. mummysaz21 02-02-2009, 18:52 woowoowoo i never said i agreed with it read my replies again god i wish people would learn english, i never said it was acceptable i was saying from the dogs point of view putin the dog through stress like that when the only world he has ever known is 2 seconds down road so dont call me loopy thank you very much topb 02-02-2009, 18:58 If it goes to the compound and the owner cant afford the release fee it will eventually be put down or it'll be rehomed, or moved to a shelter Shytalk 04-02-2009, 16:39 Are we sure that we are all talking about the same dog here, the finders says that the dog is about a year old yey several other posts say that the dog has been straying round the area for years  tara 05-02-2009, 11:05 Maybe mummysaz would know, if the dog is not running around anymore. Scozzie 05-02-2009, 11:10 it shoud be against the law to let an uncastrated dog wonder around willy nilly. I hope the RSPCA give him a quick snip while he's in their care. Strix 05-02-2009, 11:15 It's illegal to allow ANY dog to roam - so no need for any further legislation thanks  The RSPCA can't mutilate somebody's pet mummysaz21 05-02-2009, 15:22 and damn right it should be illegal i would never let my girls out alone never, and no i havent seen the dog latley and my girl just come out of season so im sure he would have been hanging around lolxx wadie 07-02-2009, 07:57 Are we sure that we are all talking about the same dog here, the finders says that the dog is about a year old yey several other posts say that the dog has been straying round the area for years  this dog is no more than a year old, fact! so he cant have been roaming for years mummysaz21 07-02-2009, 08:08 i presumed hed been walking bout for years people in the area said ages so i dint know how long that would mean, but its a FACT as u put it the dog is no longer seen around here, or at least i havent seen him geerarffe 07-02-2009, 10:32 Well at least that's one less accident waiting to happen. |
