any information about the location of Pitsmoor college sheffield in the 1880s

my great grandfather was RG Gidlow who owned the school/college in 1887, he was given £200 to buy the school after his marriage to Fanny Gidlow in about 1880,.. but he vanished in 1888 we think owing money and abandoning his wife and child .... so if you know where he went let us know!!!.. the rotter
